The use of elbow in sports massage can be very effective in reaching deeper layers of muscle tissue and applying focused pressure to specific areas. That way we can not only relax and touch on superficial layers of muscles, but also target the deep - postural/slow twitch- muscles. If a person is struggling with reduced movement due to superficial muscles soreness but also weak, tight postural muscles, sports massage with the use of elbow and joint mobilisation would be ideal.
