The difference that ACC makes

Each year, ACC members provide more than 150,000 counselling sessions. For many years, qualified ACC counsellors have been working in health and educational settings, including GP surgeries, counselling centres, hospitals and schools. Other professional and qualified members work in private practice or as volunteers, giving their own time and talents to help individ

uals through charities. ACC is a professional body whose purpose is to facilitate quality counselling, psychotherapy, pastoral care and related training by:

·Providing a framework of ethics and practice for counsellors and psychotherapists
·Profession accreditation, holding a register from the Professional Standards Authority
·Provision of CPD and a quarterly professional journal
·Understanding the value that clients place on faith
·A Christian world view that brings a perspective of hope, wholeness and understanding that clients are on a journey
