Today we celebrate our incredible Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNSs) who combine exceptional clinical expertise, and holistic care, with unwavering compassion.

Our Cancer Nurses and CNSs are at the heart of cancer care. Every day they champion change by driving service improvements, and transform lives by ensuring patients receive personalised, coordinated, and patient-centred support.

On National Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist Day, we want to honour their skill, dedication, and the vital role they play in guiding patients and families through some of life’s most challenging moments.

Thank you to our cancer nurses for everything you do - you truly embody what it means to champion change and transform lives.

We acknowledged Rare Disease Day last week with our Nursing team helping to raise awareness for the 300 million people worldwide living with a rare disease.

Our colleagues came together to organise a day of activities, including a bake sale and fundraising raffle for MPS Society. It was a great opportunity to connect, share knowledge and support an important cause that affects so many patients and families.

Thank you to everyone who took part, donated and helped. Moments like this reflect the passion and commitment of our teams, and the difference we can make together.

Congratulations to our raffle winners!

Lent is an important time for many people. Everyone observes it in their own way. Some choose to give something up. Others focus on acts of kindness, volunteering, or taking time for quiet reflection.

While practices vary, the heart of Lent is about pausing with intention. It is a time to reflect, build self-awareness, and focus on what matters most.

During this period, they will fast daily from dawn to sunset, refraining from food and water, while focusing on prayer, reflection, charity and spending time with loved ones. For many, this also includes attending nightly congregational prayers at their local mosque.
