Our telephone lines are now back up and running - a big thank you to our staff and patients for bearing with us whilst the issue was fixed.

We're unfortunately experiencing some difficulties with a number of phone lines at University Hospital this evening - we are currently working to fix the problem.

This does not affect patient care and we have put in place our business continuity plans. Please help us keep our phone lines free whist we resolve the issue.

PLEASE SHARE: If you're coming to or from University Hospital in Coventry this evening for work or visiting patients, please be aware that you may need to allow extra time for your journey.

This is because of tonight's open top bus parade through the city to celebrate the fantastic news of Coventry City F.C. getting promoted to League One! ⚽️🐘

The parade is due to start at 5pm in Ryton, and finish at the Council House at approx. 6:30pm, but full details are available on the Coventry City FC and Coventry Telegraph websites.

The Lord Mayor of Coventry will hold a Civic Reception for the Sky Blues’ promotion winning squad on Wednesday 30th May – which will be preceded by an open top bus parade through Coventry.

We are so proud to have been named as the 'Best Maternity Team of the year'. Well done to our amazing staff!

We are super proud to announce that our Maternity team have been named the best in the country by the Royal College of Midwives (RCM).

At a special awards ceremony held in London on Tuesday 6 March, the team were named ‘The Kellogg’s All-Bran Midwifery Service of the year’ in recognition of the care they provide to mums and babies.

They were given their special trophy at the ceremony by Good Morning Britain’s news anchor Charlotte Hawkins.

UHCW were joint winners of the top award, along with NHS Lanarkshire in Scotland.

Staff at UHCW offer a full range of maternity services, including Antenatal clinics, community midwifery and home birthing service, the midwife-led Lucina Birth Centre, a consultant-led Labour Ward, and a Neonatal Unit.

Claire Price, Deputy Head of Midwifery at UHCW NHS Trust said: “I’m so proud of all the team for winning this award. It recognises the hard work of all the staff who work in our Maternity service to help women and their families to have the best birth experience possible.”

Well done!
