✨Memory Lane Moments✨

Today marked our first Memory Lane Moments Club, we shared laughter, stories, and reflections from times gone by 💭

Gwen, Gloria, Betty, and Christine took a gentle walk down memory lane - reminiscing about childhood adventures, cinemas and zoos that are no longer in Coventry, and the Lady Godiva clock & Peeping Tom statue. It was heartwarming to see smiles, hear laughter, and relive happy memories together ❤️

These sessions are so special, offering comfort, connection, and a chance to celebrate the lives and experiences that shape who we are.

Our Memory Lane Moments Club will be on every other Monday at 11am. We look forward to many more mornings filled with storytelling, friendship, and treasured memories 🌸 Families are welcome to join us in sharing stories and celebrate cherished memories 💛

🏡Residents Meeting🏡

This month’s residents meeting provided an opportunity for open discussion, ensuring everyone’s voice is heard and valued. Topics included upcoming activities, entertainment ideas, and suggestions for future trips out in the community.

We continue to focus on person-centred activities, supporting individual interests and promoting meaningful engagement for all residents.

Regular socialising remains an important part of daily life in the home. Simple moments such as sharing a cup of tea and biscuits ☕️🍪 together contribute to comfort, familiarity, and wellbeing.

Yesterday it was church; we watched the service from St Barbara's Church with Gwen and Doreen in the morning, and in the afternoon, Mairead, Bernadette and Betty watched the mass from Christ the King with St Augustine’s Coventry.

For many of our residents, faith has been a lifelong source of comfort, identity, and community. Although dementia may take away memories, the feeling of connection to their beliefs often remain strong.

It’s so special to see how these moments can bring calm, recognition, and even joy. A hymn remembered or a prayer softly spoken, these are powerful reminders that faith continues to reach beyond memory 💛

Our vegetables 🥗🥕 and flowers 💐 are well on the way to growing ready for the garden soon so we got planting more this afternoon, we planted butternut squash,leeks,spring onions and lettuce 🥬
All put into the greenhouse.

☘️St Patrick’s Day activities☘️

Yesterday we played shamrock toss, throwing the shamrocks we’d made the day before into the makeshift pot of gold 🌟 It was great fun, and everyone had a go 😊

Today, we painted our St Patrick’s Day pictures 🎨🖌🖼
Maurice & Christine were the only volunteer this activity 😊 Both ex-teachers, both love to paint - Maurice used to be an art teach so he was testing my knowledge of all things art, it’s safe to say he knew more than I did 🙈

Maurice drew and painted this beautiful flower too which we’ll frame and put up around our home 🌸😍

We had a wonderful start to St Patrick’s Day this morning. David joined us, singing a lovely mix of traditional Irish songs along with some of his usual favourites ☘️

Residents thoroughly enjoyed listening to him perform, with some even joining in by tapping their feet, clapping their hands, and dancing along to the rhythm of his guitar 🎸

We made sure everyone felt included by visiting each room, so all residents had the chance to experience David’s singing 🎶
