Do you have high blood pressure??

Lots of people start a new exercise regime in January but is it for the right reasons or just to jump on the New Year bandwagon.

The British Journal or sport medicine have reviewed which type of exercise is better for lowering your blood pressure aka improving your health.
See the full review via the link below or the summary via the Infographic.

It's great to have some where that can offer this service to our local community.

Please give a warm welcome to NASS Coventry, our newest NASS branch!

They are offering hydrotherapy every Tuesday between 19:30 and 20:30 at West Coventry Academy and there are spaces free if you'd like to join them.

We'd like to say thank you to the new committee for stepping forward to run the branch and to physiotherapist Keir Young from UHCW University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire for finding the pool and getting the sessions up and running.

Have you been getting more cramp?
Do your muscles and joints generally ache?
OR do you feel more tired than normal?
Have you considered you might be low in Vitamin D. Both the NHS and NICE guidelines suggest everyone aged over 1 take 10 micrograms of Vitamin D between Oct-March.
Sources include:
oily fish – such as salmon, sardines, herring and mackerel
red meat
liver
egg yolks
fortified foods – such as some fat spreads and breakfast cereals
Another source of vitamin D is dietary supplements.

From October to March we can’t make enough vitamin D from sunshine, so to keep bones and muscles healthy, it’s best to take a vitamin D supplement.

Adults and children just need 10 micrograms a day and you can get vitamin D from most pharmacies.
