I agree but also acknowledge this would be in an ideal world, where the parent/ carer isn't feeling grumpy, stressed, shattered, exhausted, fraught etc...all the normal stuff that a parent feels when their child is kicking off in the supermarket and they just want the floor to open up and swallow them / their child!

"Let kids do things for themselves, no matter how painful it may be to watch."

This is how we raised our kids, I think temperament comes into it but totally agree. Lots of praise and encouragement too.

I'm confused by the date on this article, as it refers to 'tictok', not 'X', however it's very worrying, the type of unwanted content (torture, animal abuse, violence...) that our youngsters are randomly exposed to without them seeking it.
I'm also struck by the powerlessness of the teens to stop it, leaving groups etc, then being unwantedly readded by strangers.
Shocking times!

Over half (55%) of the 1,000 students surveyed had seen sexually explicit or violent content that was inappropriate for their age, with some saying it appeared unprompted and "pops up randomly".

Totally agree need for parents to encourage child to take responsibility. It doesn't reflect badly on the parent if the child is needing correcting, that's how we all learn.
