Coventry and Rugby GP Alliance

Coventry and Rugby GP Alliance Coventry and Rugby GP Alliance aims to enhance the delivery of health and care services to our local population.

Our mission is to "Strengthen primary care for a stronger NHS" and we do this at the S.I.D.E of general practice. The Coventry and Rugby GP Alliance was incorporated on 13th June 2014 as a private company limited by shares. The Alliance is wholly owned by Coventry and Rugby GP practices who are shareholders with ‘A’ voting shares and ‘B’ equity shares. Whilst the Alliance is a new organisation the member practices have a rich heritage in the delivery of high quality, accessible and responsive primary care in Coventry and Rugby. The Alliance has a Board of Directors made up of GPs and senior NHS employees with more than 200 years of experience. We currently have 84% of General Practices in Coventry and Rugby signed up as members who collectively serve almost 400,000 patients and our membership is continuing to grow. Our members remain independent organisations but collaborate in the further development of local primary care. The Alliance firmly believes that this model of collaborative working is the most desirable for our patients with practices enjoying many benefits of being part of a collective organisation.

Help is out there. It starts with courage. It starts with YOU.

If you or someone you care about needs support, check out https://www.matesinmind.org/ - because every man deserves to feel heard, supported, and valued.

The information pack includes links to information in different languages.

Type 2 Diabetes Prevention Week 2025: 26th May – 1st June 2025 💙

This week marks the prevention week for Type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes can lead to serious health complications if left untreated. Awareness of diabetes can lead to people getting the diagnose, treatment and advice to ensure a healthy lifestyle.

You can significantly reduce your risk by making small lifestyle changes with support from your local Healthier You programme. Research shows that the Healthier You programme has prevented thousands of new diagnoses of type 2 diabetes in England and saved people from potentially serious ill health. Check your risk of type 2 diabetes – it could be the most important thing you do today.

Annual Health Checks for Those with Severe Mental Illness (SMI)

Are you living with Severe Mental Illness (SMI) and in need of support? You’re not alone - help is available!

The check will include a range of important assessments to help you stay on top of your health with:

• BMI check
• BP or Pulse check
• QRISK2 or Cholesterol check
• HbA1c or Cholesterol check
• Alcohol use review
• Smoking status review
• An assessment of nutritional status, diet, and level of physical activity.
• A discussion on national screen e.g. bowl / breast / cervical screening.
• A discussion of medication side effect being experienced.
• General physical health enquiry.
• Advice on any appropriate follow-up interventions.
