Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs) provide medical assistance when it is not a life-threatening emergency.

You can use our Urgent Treatment Centre at the Hospital of St Cross in Rugby for help with things like sprains, strains, suspected broken bones, cuts and bruises and minor illnesses.

The nurse-led service can treat patients over the age of five years-old. X-ray services are available between 8.30am and 10pm on weekdays and 9am and 10pm on weekends.

So, next time you need help for an urgent but not life-threatening health concern, make the Urgent Treatment Centre your first port of call.

Ready to hit the road…our new hi-tech lung cancer mobile scanner is rolling out across Coventry, Rugby and, in 2026, south Warwickshire.

The scanner will be visiting local sites from Monday 15th December, scanning up to 50 people a day, seven days a week.

Early detection means better treatment options - since 2021, 80 per cent of lung cancers found through the screening programme have been caught at stages one and two.

Winter viruses are rising in our hospitals and in the community. You can keep yourself and others safe by:

Washing your hands often with warm soap and water.
Regularly using hand gel if you are visiting hospital.
Using 'catch it, bin it, kill it' if you to minimise the spread of germs.
Staying at home and minimising contact with others if you are unwell.

If you are eligible, make sure to book your flu vaccine. Find out where you can get your flu vaccination here - https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/vaccination-and-booking-services/book-flu-vaccination/

An incredible 1,720 years of combined service were celebrated as we recognised colleagues who had achieved five, 10, 15 and 20 years in the NHS.

Colleagues who reached these milestones were invited to an informal tea party where they received their certificates and pin badges.

One of the colleagues celebrating a milestone was none other than our Chief People Officer, Donna Griffiths, who celebrated 20 years of service within the NHS.

The awards, sponsored by UHCW Charity, aim to recognise more of our dedicated colleagues than ever before.

Trust Chair, Sue Noyes who presented the awards, said: "It was an absolute pleasure to present our service awards - a huge well done to everyone receiving an award for your commitment, hard work and continued service.”

Due to a rising number of flu cases, staff in our Emergency Department and Children’s Emergency Department will be wearing face masks. 😷

If you are waiting in those areas for care, masks will be available and we would encourage patients and visitors to also wear a mask.

The best way to protect yourself and your family is by having the flu jab, if eligible, and by following good hand hygiene practices.
