Patients undergoing Interventional Radiology procedures at UHCW are benefiting from innovative use of virtual reality (VR) headsets to help ease pain and reduce anxiety.

Through a new trial, patients can choose immersive calming environments - beaches, forests or mountains - alongside guided breathing and meditation while receiving treatment that can last several hours.

Early feedback has been incredibly positive, with some patients even requiring less sedation and feeling more in control throughout their procedure.
