A big congratulations to Sherya Sangili from Rugby High School, who has won the national Step into the NHS competition! ⭐
Step into the NHS introduces students to a wide range of careers while inspiring them to fulfil their potential by raising career aspirations. Students were tasked to create an innovative job advert for an NHS role, requiring them to research the role’s key responsibilities, and any qualifications, skills or experience needed.
Over 1,400 entries were received from nearly 2,500 students, and Shreya’s creative video advert for dietitians stood out to the judges. As well as being the midlands region winner, Shreya won the overall national award.
Last week, CWPT’s very own advanced dietitian, Roxanne McNaughton, attended Rugby High School to present Shreya with her certificate alongside year 8. Roxanne said “It was an absolute pleasure to be able to present Shreya with her award and speak with her about becoming a dietitian. The Step into the NHS competition really showcases the variety of roles available in the health service, and it was amazing to speak with so many aspiring AHP’s, medics and also those looking at lesser-known careers such as medical photography and support services including catering or HR. I look forward to hopefully working alongside some of them in the future!”
Following the presentation, a van with a large screen playing Shreya’s advert was shown to the students before a tour around Rugby! 💙
