Yesterday, we held a Women’s Group at FWT as part of the 'Our Coventry' partnership project to celebrate Christmas and the New Year.

15 women attended, sharing their goals and visions for the year ahead. We shared refreshments enjoyed lively discussions and supported women to build friendships with each other to reduce isolation, as many of the women are newly arrived .

The feedback was excellent, with all the women expressing their happiness with the session and how welcomed they felt at FWT.

FWT’s and health projects teams supported recently by raising awareness on various topics, through sessions and events with partners in Coventry and Warwickshire.

In , we worked closely with the midwife team and other professionals, promoting health advice for babies and mums. We supported a group session with BABH on ‘Healthy Parent, Healthy Baby’.

In , MAMTA participated in the launch of the Best Start in Life Community Hub. Just under 90 families attended.
The MAMTA team also delivered activities at the Family Hub and in MAMTA Parentcraft to pregnant women and women who have just had babies.
All service users gave fantastic feedback.
FWT’s MAMTA programme works together with commissioners and health partners to deliver key health messages in pregnancy and after baby is born to minority ethnic women. For more information, please contact the MAMTA team on MAMTA@fwt.org.uk or 024 7663 7693

Learning Partner opportunity – Coventry Women’s Partnership

Coventry Women’s Partnership are seeking a Learning Partner to support our place-based systems change programme focused on reducing gendered poverty through improved housing systems in Coventry. This work is funded by the Smallwood Trust for an initial two-year period, but our ambitions and programme are long-term and evolving.

We are not looking for a traditional evaluator. We are seeking a critical friend, a reflective, adaptive partner who can walk alongside us, help us make sense of change as it happens, and support us to embed learning, reflection, and evidence into everything we do.

Support FWT - a centre for women CRASAC Coventry Haven Women's Aid Kairos Women Working Together on this new programme.

On Wednesday 12th November 2025, we welcomed 21 women to FWT for our ‘Tea, Tales and Togetherness’ workshop, as part of Coventry . We started with a presentation, followed by poems, activities, competitions, and refreshments.
During the presentation, we had a powerful discussion about “what peace means to you?”, and women shared their ideas and personal thoughts. For our creative activity, every woman attending wrote one word about peace based on their own feelings and understanding. It was an engaging, inclusive, positive, and inspiring event.
We would like to thank Coventry City Council for the additional funding enabling us to rung this event. We’d also like to say a big thanks you to other organisations, including Coventry Women’s Partners, and Panahghar who promoted the event and engaged women.
