We had an incredible afternoon at FWT recently, as we welcomed back Coventry's Lord Mayor Councillor Rachel Lancaster to the centre for a follow on session with women who previously took part in the initial workshop. This project launched at FWT and has reached across Coventry's including in Cork, Ireland on International Women’s Day, which our CEO Christine attended.

Over 25 women from across Coventry came together for this second workshop at FWT, which was supported across FWT teams especially the OurCoventry colleagues, who translated in Arabic and Pashto to women who needed it.

The overarching theme was that and how FWT is changing their lives. Thanks to the team, our CEO Viv who attended, and especially to Lord Mayor Rachel Lancaster for her commitment in supporting women & women's organisations from the start. The voices of women will be captured in a book from across Twin Cities.

We had a lovely albeit emotional afternoon at FWT - a centre for women on Monday to say goodbye to Surindar, one of our Perintal Mental Health team supporting minority ethnic women, who is retiring. We came together to celebrate Surindar's exciting new journey and to wish her well. Thanks to Surindar for your incredible hard work leading on our Perinatal Mental Health work in Coventry, which started as a pilot project, and has led to ongoing year on year commissioning, and provided evidence of need that's supported us securing new funding recently to deliver PNMH across Warwickshire. Surindar said she "only came for 1 year but stayed for 7", which represents the magic of FWT, and our endless work to support women and try to secure income streams to enable this. We'll miss you 🥰

'I'm delighted to share the updates from my recent work visit to . I was invited by Cork's Lady Mayoress Karen BrennanBrennan having been introduced to her by C@Coventry's Lord Mayor Rachel Lancaster during a visit in 2025.

I was invited by Karen to attend the celebrations at Cork City Hall Cork County Council and present, which gave me the opportunity to share the work we do supporting women across and , our methodologies, and our partnership working to ensure better outcomes for women.

There is a shared vision and commitment to supporting marginalised women across our which I will look to sustain beyond through shared best practice, ideas and support:

I had the opportunity to visit a number of incredible organisations across Cork including , Dillons Cross, Cuanlee Refuge Cork and Edel House, Good Shepherd Cork. and I met many others. I was overwhelmed with support & kindness and it was such a pleasure to have a tour of Cork City Hall, the powerhouse of the City, and sign the official visitors book.

The FWT - a centre for women senior management team Christine Mcnaught Noreen Bukhari and Kulwant had a really indepth & productive away day with our fantastic Chair Viv Brosnahan and new committee members Manjeet Stone Joanna K Selby and Trish Evans Everyone had time and space to learn about each other followed by indepth strategic discussions and planning.

Our FWT colleagues catching up at the centre today for a full team meeting and lunch. Our CEO Christine led on the agenda, mapping out all projects, strategy and staffing structures in place from 1st April 2026. We're ready for a new financial year delivering support across Coventry and Warwickshire, plus continuing a busy timetable of onsite workshops, courses and training.

FWT gave two clients, who are on our and Barlcays LifeSkills employment projects, Cov Connects laptops to help them practice their digital skills, apply for jobs from home and connect with others.

One service user, who completed several courses at the centre, such as Confidence Building, AES Entry 1&2 ESOL and AES Digital Essential Skills, was given a laptop to continue studying from home. By practicing how to use Microsoft packages and touch typing, she is hoping to gain transferrable that she can use in work.

Another client who only had a smartphone to work said:
"Thank you for this laptop, it will help me a lot and I will not have to struggle. I was paying so much to travel to the centre to use the computers, and not able to work when the libraries were closed, but now I have freedom".
