Severe period pain and PMDD can feel overwhelming - especially when your body is asking for something different to what the world expects of you
Here’s a gentle practice you can try when things feel intense:
1️⃣ Ground into your bodyPlace one hand on your chest and one on your belly (or lower belly).Take a few slow, deep breaths and allow yourself to drop down into your body.
2️⃣ Slow the paceThere’s no rush. If there are cramps, discomfort, or emotion, let them be there. It’s safe to move slowly.
3️⃣ Connect & reassureLet your body know: “I’m here. You’re safe. It’s okay to rest.”Acknowledge what’s happening without pushing it away.
This may take a few tries, for some it helps straight away, for others it’s a practice that deepens over time.
What matters is being genuine, intentional, and not forcing yourself through.
If you need to cancel plans, slow your day down, or take time off - that’s listening, not failing.
If you try this, I’d love to hear how you got on.And please share this with anyone who might need a little extra support right now 🌿💕✨
