A seated side stretch is one of those really simple things that actually works. No equipment, no overthinking. Just reach, breathe and give your body a bit of space.

It can help ease that tight, hunched feeling you get from sitting too long, loosen off your back and shoulders and even make breathing feel a bit easier.

Hold it for 20–30 seconds each side. Don’t force it. Just go where it feels good.

(Extra points if you haven't even left your bed yet 🛏️ 🛏️)

Massage can absolutely help you sleep better (and not just because it feels amazing).

When your body gets the chance to slow down, soften and step out of go-go-go mode, your nervous system responds. Massage helps reduce stress hormones, ease muscle tension and boost those lovely feel-good chemicals like serotonin, all of which support deeper, more restorative sleep.

It’s especially helpful if you struggle to switch off at night, carry tension in your shoulders or jaw, or wake up feeling like you’ve slept but not actually rested. Or if *ahem* your to-do list is currently longer than your arm.

Sometimes better sleep starts long before bedtime. 😌✨

Is the almost-spring making you keen to head out and get moving? Same same.

But if activity levels have dipped over the winter months, jumping straight in can sometimes lead to those little aches and niggles.

A few minutes of warming up helps your body ease back into movement so things feel smoother and more comfortable.

Nothing wild. Just a little time to wake the body up before you start.

Human's just weren't designed to be still for as long as modern life often needs us to be!

If you've got aches and pains from sitting at your desk, rather than fixating on perfect posture the very best thing you can do is move.

Little and often - stand up. Roll your shoulders. Walk to the kettle. Stretch your calves. Reset your posture. Repeat often.

Little movements, done regularly, beat one mega stretch at 6pm every time.

Fear’s a terrible physio ❤️

We know that getting back to 'normal' after an injury can feel properly daunting. One wrong move and your brain’s already screaming NOPE. So you move less, guard everything and hope time will sort it out.

What that usually does is just keeps you stuck.

A good sports therapist or physio won’t just poke the sore bit, they’ll show you how to move again with confidence, rebuild your strength the right way and start to trust your body again (instead of treating it like it’s made of crisps).

Fire & Earth are the leading sports massage specialists in the West Midlands, with clinics Coventry, Hinckley and Leamington. Our dedicated team of experienced therapists provide you with both high level therapeutic and remedial massages. We also offer sports therapy and postural assessments.

Every month we help hundreds of sports and non sports clients get back to full fitness using a variety of soft tissue techniques and exercise therapy. If you are suffering with back pain, general tension or you have a sports injury our team of highly qualified therapists will aim to get you back doing what you love as soon as possible.

We know how important it is for you to be injury free, that’s why our goal is to get results quickly. Combining sports massage and personalised exercise plans means every session is bespoke and 100% focused on you.

Work related postural problems and general tension affect many of us day to day. Not dealing with it can cause a build up over time and lead to injuries, it can also stop us from sleeping well and cause general discomfort when trying to do everyday tasks. Having regular deep tissue massages can prevent many of these issues from occurring in the first place. Postural assessments will determine what's going on and how you can improve your posture.
