Sorry we have been gone for a while from Facebook but things have still been happening here.

So let me fill you all in!!

We have been moving over to electronic care planning so we have been busy bees behind the scenes, 4 weeks of hard work but we are near the finish line!

We’ve had ice-cream trollies, exercise classes galore, sing-alongs with Andy, pamper days with nail painting, hairdresser, chiropodist, hearing and eye tests!

Angela got employee of the month for June and she also got a kindness in care award! Well done!!

It may have been raining outside but it’s always sunny inside, the rain and cloudy weather can’t stop us!

What a busy day!

We started off with creative mojo, bringing a fabulous bit of artwork to life.

Ann won Artist of the Week; a massive congratulations and well done. Ann has a very keen eye for detail. 🎨 🖌️

In the afternoon we checked our vegetable and herb patch. Our potatoes were ready to harvest! We took some mint from the herb patch, and it was a unanimous decision that minted potatoes was how we wanted to taste our produce tomorrow. 🥔 🪴

Well, what a day!
The sun was shining, and we got to do crafts in the morning, painting stain glass window decorations that create rainbows around the room when the sun shines through them.

We had an amazing donation of ice lollies and ice cream from the son of a very missed lady who spent many happy years with us. We were all so thankful and enjoyed the refreshing treat.

Ava who is our duke of Edinburgh volunteer and the daughter of our well-being coordinator lead all the activities today and made this amazing piece of artwork for a lady who lives here to hang in her bedroom, it was such a beautiful moment watching Ava present her gift and the look of pure appreciation and love that was given back to Ava was heart-warming.

To finish our day, we had tea and toast for everyone, can’t beat a full belly before unwinding ready for bed.

The sun is shining and we are getting creative here at Victoria manor this afternoon, making birthday cards for a gentleman who lives in another HC-One home who is going to be celebrating the massive 100th Birthday milestone!

Today we have been relaxing, since the weather has cooled down it’s like we can finally take a moment without overheating. It’s also nice to have a break from the heat, to give the garden a chance
to grow back after being scorched by the sun!

Amber and her Sloth have had a hard day at work, napping, eating, giving hugs and running around

Today we have had a day full of flavour, music, African drums and some beautiful food cooked by our very own staff member Mary!

We celebrated world African day, which was a little while ago but rather than missing it we decided to celebrate it a bit later.

We all got to learn the drums, and all play it at once which was so amazing to be apart of and hear it all together.

All the staff came in traditional clothing, Which were fabulous, they all really supported people living here to get in the African spirit and celebrate the culture of so many of the staff!

Thank you to all the staff who made the whole event memorable for everyone, your effort and participation does not go unnoticed!
