Claire, a fantastic artist from Llantwit Major, returned to our Pharmacy in Treorchy to paint autumn inspired windows to help promote our FREE NHS services.

A FREE NHS sore throat test and treat service is now offered by all community pharmacies throughout Wales.

Here in Cowbridge our trained Pharmacists can undertake a brief consultation & throat swab. If results show that your symptoms are caused by a bacterial infection they can prescribe antibiotics, whereas if the underlying cause is viral (meaning antibiotics won’t be effective), they can prescribe pain relief.

This FREE NHS service is open to Welsh patients aged 5 years and upward. We offer consultations on a walk-in basis from 8:30am until 6pm each weekday and from 9am until midday on a Saturday.

Cowbridge Pharmacy offers a FREE NHS sore throat test and treat service to patient’s aged 5 years upwards. You don’t need an appointment, just walk in and we’ll arrange for you to have a consultation with a Pharmacist. We can potentially provide FREE antibiotics if the underlying cause of your symptoms is bacterial and FREE pain relief if it’s viral.

Our Pharmacy is closed today for the Bank Holiday.

We’ll be open as normal tomorrow. Our Pharmacist Independent Prescriber will be in all day, tomorrow from 8:30am - 6pm. Consultations will be available on a walk-in basis.

We’re mindful there’s a lot of concern in the media about an increase in cost of certain weight loss medications.

We would like to reassure patients, who’ve entrusted us with supporting their weight loss journey, that we will aim to keep our price unchanged for as long as possible (£185 for medication supply irrespective of strength + no charge for associated consultations). We have a plentiful supply of a variety of weight loss medication already in stock. We’ve seen some fantastic, life changing results via our weight loss clinic, it’s a service our team enjoy providing & we are committed to keeping our pricing transparent, fair & unchanged for as long as possible. We are still accepting new patient sign ups and we can also potentially facilitate patients swapping to us if they have concerns with their current provider.

Please note supply of weight loss medication is a private (paid) service and does not form part of our NHS offering.
