At Cowbridge Funeral Directors, we understand that visiting a loved one’s grave isn’t always possible as often as you may wish.

Whether it’s due to distance, health, work, or simply life being busy, many families take comfort in knowing that someone they trust can care for their loved one’s resting place on their behalf.

Our Memorial Care service has been created to provide that reassurance.

Each visit can include:• Gentle cleaning and tidying of the memorial• Care of the surrounding area• Fresh flowers or seasonal tributes• A photo update for your peace of mind

We can also arrange visits on meaningful dates such as anniversaries, birthdays and Christmas.

This service is carried out with the same dignity, respect and attention that we would give to our own families.

If you know somebody who now lives away from the area, or has family buried locally but is unable to visit as often as they would like, we would be very grateful if you could share this post with them 🤍

The funeral for Jill will be on Tuesday 10th March 2026 at 1.15pm at the Bridgend (Coychurch) Crematorium, Simonston Road, Coychurch, Bridgend CF35 6AB and afterwards at the Bear Hotel, Cowbridge CF71 6AB

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Phillip (Ossie) James, who died peacefully on the 25th of January at Brocastle Care Home, surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of Barbara, devoted father of Deborah and Sarah, and a cherished grandfather and great-grandfather, Phil will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and the love he shared with those around him.

A service and celebration of Phil’s life will be held at:
The United Free Church (Ramoth), Cowbridge
Friday, 20th February at 12 noon

Funeral Director’s Assistant / Driver (On-Call)

Location: Cowbridge
Position: Part-time / On-call
Start Date: Immediate

We are seeking a reliable, friendly & compassionate Funeral Director’s Assistant / Driver to join our team on an on-call basis. This role is essential in supporting funeral services and providing dignified care to families.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assisting Funeral Directors during funerals and related services
• Driving funeral vehicles, including hearses, limousines and private ambulances
• Acting with care, professionalism, and respect
• Supporting families and mourners in a discreet and courteous manner
• Being available on-call, including evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays

Requirements:
• Full, clean driving licence
• Professional appearance and respectful manner
• Strong reliability and punctuality
• Ability to remain calm and composed in sensitive situations
• Good physical health (role may involve lifting)
• Flexibility to work on short notice
• Previous experience in funeral services is an advantage, but not essential (training provided)
