Bodyfix Massage Therapy Deep tissue and sports massage therapist My name is Karen McIntyre and I have been a deep tissue and sports massage therapist for nearly 14 years.

After qualifying I started my first 5 years experience at Healing Hands and have been self employed since. Each treatment is individually tailored to the clients requirements using a variety of deep tissue work, myo fascial release and trigger point therapy with stretches and strengthening advice given

I also offer manual lymphatic drainage massage, reflexology and hot stone treatments. FAQs

w early should i arrive? i purposefully leave a 15/20 minute gap between clients to allow time for stretching at the end (this also means you get your full massage time) to take payment and rebook if required. i also need time to prep for the next client with increased cleaning in this current climate, so please do not arrive any more than 5 minutes early

*what happens when i arrive
You will be asked to fill in a consultation card and
If its your first treatment we will have a chat about your presenting and past muscles aches and/or injuries

*what do i wear? It depends on what area is being worked on but say its a back, neck and shoulder treatment then you would be asked to strip (in privacy) down to your underpants or boxers. Old stretch cotton ones are best (to tight can effect blood flow) and they can sometimes become oily so dont wear your sunday best!

*Is it painful
Massage can sometimes be a little uncomfortable during the treatment, this depends greatly on the injury or reason for seeking treatment. I can only work as deeply as you allow me to. If it is painful then i will ease back the pressure, then work deeper again
You may feel a little tender and stiff for a day or two after but the use of an icepack will calm this inflammation and ease pain. A highly important part of your after care.

*Do I have to do the stretches at home
Please please do your stretches at home daily, this will help you in the long run

Polite reminder to clients to let me know ASAP if you need to cancel or reschedule. There is also a 24hour late cancellation fee. I’m seriously thinking about taking payment at booking as this is happening so regularly 😩😩😩

Client notice
I had a review my price increase as £5 per treatment didn’t make much sense. So the reviewed review is as follow

30 mins - £25

40mins - £34

60mins - £43

90mins - £65

This is effective from 15th September. I have noticed my treatment prices are significantly lower than most therapists in fife. I have many more years experience than most, as well as increased costs for products and energy costs.

Polite request for clients not to turn up no more than 2/3 mins early for their appointments. I leave 15mins between each client to give them time to dress in peace, I may have to demonstrate stretches or have treatment plans to discuss. I also need this time to take the payment, rebook, clean and prep room for my next client, wash my hands, I may need a drink of water or the toilet. I may have 10 messages to deal with

2/3 mins is plenty time to get yourself ready

Price increase information

Unfortunately I’m having to raise my prices, this is due to the rising costs of electricity to heat the summerhouse and laundry costs
