Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week takes place this year from 5 – 11 May 2025. This annual event is dedicated to raising awareness about mental health challenges faced by women during pregnancy and after childbirth. The campaign aims to help women access support and resources, whilst also promoting open conversations about mental health during and after pregnancy.
The week is organized by Perinatal Mental Health Partnership who started the campaign in 2017. It consists of a group of individuals, including parents with lived experience and medical professionals, who collaborate to raise awareness about maternal mental health.
This year’s theme is ‘Your voice, your strength’. This consists of the following daily themes:
Monday 5 May – Conversations that matter – let’s talk about maternal mental health
Tuesday 6 May – Walking with you as you find your voice – supportive organisations
Wednesday 7 May – World Maternal Mental Health Day – Stronger Together
Thursday 8 May – Breaking the silence: Financial stress and Maternal Mental Health
Friday 9 May – Perinatal Positivity Pot
Saturday 10 May – Information for Impact for Healthcare Professionals
