CYBER SECURITY: online free session for parents

Thames Valley Cyber Protect team are inviting Parents and carers to join engaging and informative Cyber Security training presentations.

These sessions will share easy-to-implement tips for parents/carers regarding online behaviours and internet-enabled device usage.

This session covers key topics, including:
1. Emails and mobile phones: The art of spotting a scam – lots of hints and tips to share with your children around phishing and other scams.
2. Social media safety: The risks around social engineering, disinformation, AI, privacy and hacked accounts.
3. Gaming: Understand what the risks are to young people when gaming, particularly online, and discover ways to monitor and restrict usage.
4. Password mastery and Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Helping you and your family to secure your accounts following best practice.

Day one using Rapid Health

Patients have today been completing the Rapid Health questionnaire online, or in Practice, and successfully booking appointments – with no need to call back tomorrow or join a 8am rush.

To enable more parents to automatically book appointments for their children, please go to ‘Update Your Details’ on our website and update an email address for each of your children (if you haven’t done so today).

Thank you to our patients for learning with us on our first day.

New triage and online consultation tool – launching Monday, 3 November 2025

Why are we changing things?
We recognise that accessing appointments has been difficult and frustrating. With the ever-increasing demand for GP services, we are changing to RAPID HEALTH triage and online consultation tool to:
• safely increase access and capacity
• triage all GP/ANP acute appointment requests according to clinical urgency
• manage clinical and administrative requests
• keep easy access for registered patients (no log-in or password required)

We understand that not everyone can complete a Rapid Health questionnaire online for GP/ANP appointments. Two tablets will be fitted in discreet areas of reception, so your privacy is increased, and queues at the front desk are reduced. The team will be on hand to help you get started using Rapid Health. There is also the option to call the practice, and a patient adviser will take you through the questionnaire. However, waiting times on the phone are likely to be longer as a result.

Use eConsult for medical care and questions.
Just click on the eConsult link on our website and we will do our best to provide an initial response by the end of the next working day, or within 5 working days for administrative questions. As eConsult is a separate system to your patient record, you do not need a log-in for this service, but it therefore needs to ask you to enter patient details and answer some safety questions. This service is available Monday to Friday, from 8 am up until the maximum number has been reached for that day.
