Very busy morning at the clinic.
My first client suffers from Planter Fasciitis. It's a very common and painful condition of the foot.
It is caused by the connective tissue on the sole of the foot the 'plantar fascia' becoming damaged through sudden movement and causes pain at the base of the heel.
It can be brought on by a tight achillies tendon, sports injury, physical stress to the feet or just simple wear and tear.

My advice to my client was to wear supportive footwear like trainers. I give him some information on stretches to do and he bought some insoles that I sell especially for this condition.

I would like all my clients to know that I’m running a Covid-19 secure clinic.
Following the governments guidelines I do the following.

There is an automatic hand sanitiser on entering the clinic.

Covid-19 guideline Posters are placed on the walls and doors.

I have carried out a Covid-19 risk assessment and it is on display.

I only allow one client in at a time or two from the same household.

I give myself 15 minutes between clients so I can thoroughly disinfect all the touch points ie treatment couch, chairs, handrails door handles etc.

I have ordered multiple covid-19 rapid testing kits to test myself twice weekly.

I have taken all reasonable steps to provide adequate ventilation.

I ask all my clients to wear a face mask unless exempt.

My clients feeling safe is very important to me and this is why I have put in so much time ensuring this.

All ready for a busy day at the clinic. This is my new autoclave it sterilizes the instruments at 134 degrees C.
I then place them in sealed pouches where they stay sterile until I use them.

I have been in the profession for over 13 years and have been providing my service remotely, visiting people in their homes. I have now opened up a friendly COVID secure clinic in Newport and I am taking on new clients.

I can help with corns, hard skin, cracked heels, thickened nails, ingrown toe nails and diabetic foot care.
