Hi everyone, Lewis here!

Spines…they’re amazing structures. They support you everyday, why not give them some thought…

Just a little reminder of what I do as a Diversified Chiropractor.👨‍⚕️🩻

I work with the musculoskeletal system. That’s including, muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments and nerves!🦵🧠🏃

I use soft tissue treatment and adjustments (specific application of force) to mobilise joints, encouraging movement and alleviating pain🦴

If you’re curious about what I do, how it could help you or anything in between, give us a ring and book yourself in!

Your Best Posture Might Not Be What You Think

We often hear people say, "I have bad posture- that's why my back or neck hurts". But here's something most people don't realise...

✨There isn't just one perfect posture✨.
Your body was made to move- not stay in one locked position all day.

When we sit or stand in one spot for too long, our muscles and joints get tired.
That's when stiffness or pain starts to creep in- not necessarily because your posture is "bad", but because your body just needs variety.

At CCC, we see this all the time. People come in worried their posture is the problem, but often the real issue is lack of movement, muscle imbalance, or work-related strain.

Here's what we recommend:
✅Move regularly- even 30 seconds of stretching every half hour helps.
✅Change positions often- your "best" posture is your next one.
✅Build strength- a strong, flexible body handles all postures better.

If you're dealing with neck, shoulder, or back pain from long hours of work, we can help. Our physios can assess your movement, release tightness, and teach you practical ways to keep your body feeling good throughout the day.

Don't aim for "perfect posture"- aim for comfortable, confident movement💪

Let's talk about Sciatica!

Sciatica is one of the most common reasons people come to see us- but it's also one of the most misunderstood. Let's bust a few myths 👇

❌Myth 1: "Sciatica means you've slipped a disc and need surgery."
✅Fact: Most cases of sciatica don't require surgery. In fact, with the right assessment and treatment plan, symptoms often settle naturally over time. At CCC, we can identify what's really causing your pain and guide you with the right movement, posture, and exercises to help you recover safely.

❌Myth 2: "You should rest and wait for the pain to go away."
✅Fact: Prolonged rest can actually make things worse. Gentle, guided movement helps calm the nerve and reduce pain. Our physios can teach you safe exercises to stay active, protect your back, and improve your mobility.

❌Myth 3: "Sciatica means permanent nerve damage."
✅Fact: The sciatic nerve is tough and can heal! With early treatment, most people fully recover. Physio focuses on reducing pressure on the nerve, improve strength, to help you move confidently again.

The Takeaway:
Sciatica can be painful, but it's very treatable.
✅Stay active within your comfort zone
✅Use movement and posture variety
✅Get professional advice early

Why Does My Back Still Hurt? 🧐

Did you know that chronic low back pain doesn't always mean damage to your spine? In many cases, ongoing pain is due to sensitive nerves, stiff joints, weak muscles, or daily habits- not serious injury.

The good news?
Physiotherapy and Chiropractic can help by:

1. Teaching you how to move with confidence (not fear) 🚶‍♀️
2. Strengthening the muscles that support your spine. 🏋️‍♀️
3. Improving posture and mobility. 🤸‍♂️
4. Giving you tools to manage flare-ups at home. 🏠

Remember: Pain doesn't always equal damage. With professional guidance, you can regain function, reduce discomfort, and continue doing the activities that matter most to you.

Hi everyone! 👋

My name’s Lauren and I’m really excited to be joining CCC as a Physiotherapist. I graduated from the University of Brighton in July 2025 with a 1st class BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy, and before that I spent 4 years working as a Physiotherapy Assistant in a private physiotherapy clinic.

I’ve gained clinical experience in musculoskeletal injuries, stroke, paediatrics, and orthopaedics, and I’m passionate about helping people become stronger and more confident to return to what they love doing. 🩷

Outside of the clinic, I enjoy keeping active through running and the gym, as well as relaxing by playing the piano. I also love travelling and spending quality time with family and friends. 👯‍♀️

📆My hours are:
Monday-Friday: 09:00-17:00
1 in 4 Saturdays: 10:00-16:00

I’m really looking forward to meeting you and being part of your journey to achieve your goals. 💪

How Does Movement Support Healthy Joints?

Many people believe that if their joints hurt, the best thing to do is rest. But here's the truth: in most cases movement is medicine for your joints.

When you move:
1. Your joints get nourished with oxygen and nutrients.
2. Muscles that support your spine, hips, and shoulders stay strong.
3. Stiffness and inflammation are reduced.
4. Your balance and confidence improve, lowering your risk of falls.

Too much rest can actually make pain worse over time. Muscles weaken, joints stiffen, and your everyday activities feel harder.

The key is the right type of movement:
- Low impact exercises like walking, swimming, or cycling.
- Targeted strengthening and stretching exercises.
- Activity broken up into manageable chunks throughout your day.

Remember: you don't need to "go hard" to see benefits- even small amounts of regular, gentle movement add up to big improvements in joint health.

If you're unsure where to start, book in with a physiotherapist to assess your personal needs and create a safe, personalised plan to you.
