💚 Your support has meant the world to us through illness, grief, and everything in between 💚

Hi everyone. It’s been a little while since we shared an update, so we just wanted to say a huge thank you for all of your patience and support. 💚

From the incredible kindness you showed while I was very ill in August and September, to all the messages and support we received after losing the head of our family the day before Christmas Eve, we are truly overwhelmed. Over nearly eight and a half years, your support never ceases to amaze us. We hope we’ve been able to help you or your loved ones in some way, whether that’s potentially easing pain, stress, anxiety, or helping with sleep. 🙏

Our new, separate business was due to launch on January 1, but because of bereavement and everything that comes with shock and grief, we weren’t able to make that happen at the time. Don’t worry though, everything is ready to go. The stock is here, the page is set up, and we’re just putting the final touches in place. When it goes live, we’ll be launching with an amazing competition, and we’ll also be running a competition here on this page for our loyal CBD customers. 🎉

It is with heavy hearts that we share we have suffered a sudden bereavement in our family. We have unexpectedly lost the head of our family our Grandad who was not only the most important person to us, but our guide in life.

Because of this, we will no longer be able to open as planned on Friday 2nd January. Right now, our focus needs to be on dealing with the shock of this loss and supporting one another as a family.

Myself and Julie would sincerely appreciate your understanding and patience at this incredibly sad time.

We hope to see you in the New Year once we have had time to grieve and deal with everything.

Hi everyone, Kyle here 👋

First off, a huge thank you to all of you for your kind messages and patience while I’ve been recovering. It really meant a lot that people respected the space we shared in the last update. It made a big difference to me personally and to the family business. 💚

I’m still not fully recovered I’ve got surgery coming up due to complications from my initial hospital admission. While many things have improved, some will need further medical attention. The good news is I’m able to manage most day-to-day tasks again, which means we’re officially back open, fully operational, and ready to serve you. 🙌

📦 Collections and postage are running as normal.
📱 Messenger, calls, and emails are open again. From now on, we’ll be operating strictly within our business hours:

⚠️ McGowans CBD Update ⚠️

Please don’t contact Kyle directly. He has personally asked for this, and we agree he needs space to get better. We aren’t sure what we’re dealing with, but it’s important we give him that space. Please read this update instead. ❤️

Kyle was rushed to the hospital over the weekend. Because of the bank holiday, he won’t be able to see his specialists until tomorrow. For this reason, we’ll be taking a short pause and may reopen on Tuesday, depending on how he’s doing.

Our phones are off for now especially Kyle’s as he focuses on his recovery. We truly appreciate your patience and support while we prioritise his health.

While Kyle was in the hospital, a former customer who had been banned two years ago returned. This was the same behaviour that led to their ban: calling 24/7, turning up at the house seven days a week, even when not buying CBD just to talk, and most seriously, walking into a home where children were present.

This time they knocked and banged on the door for over 30 minutes, damaged the handle, and left a note asking him to call. We’ve had to switch off our voicemail and may need to change our number to a landline or a new mobile in the coming weeks. They even tried using new numbers and other customers before finally showing up at the door.

We’ve always offered a website and other options for ordering, but harassing our family and crossing personal boundaries is not acceptable. They knew they were blocked and banned, and this is the first person we’ve ever had to take such measures against. We honestly thought they would realise it’s illegal to enter someone’s home when they aren’t working or are in bed sleeping. Thanks to CCTV, the situation has been reviewed and is being handled appropriately.

Kyle has always been incredibly kind and accommodating, but the safety of our family, staff, and customers comes first. We will not tolerate behaviour that threatens that safety.
