😠 Why Won't This Elbow Pain Go Away? (It's a Tendon Problem!)

If you have stubborn pain on the outside of your elbow when gripping, lifting, or shaking hands, you might have Tennis Elbow.

As a BSc Qualified Exercise and Rehabilitation Specialist, I know that treating tendons requires patience and specific loading, not just rest or endless stretching.

The Problem: Tennis Elbow is typically not inflammation but degeneration of the tendon tissue due to chronic, repetitive overload (lifting, gripping, typing).

The tendon tissue is weak and disorganised.
My Solution: Targeted Load & Rebuilding

Tissue Release: Targeted sports massage to relax the overworked forearm muscles that are constantly pulling on the painful tendon attachment.

Assessment: We identify why the muscles are tight (Is it poor shoulder stability? Grip technique?).

Eccentric Rehab: I give you a custom program focused on eccentric strengthening (exercises where you control the muscle as it lengthens). This is the only way to rebuild and reorganize the tendon tissue structure for long-term relief.

⚡ Sciatic Pain is a SYMPTOM. I Find the CAUSE. (BSc Rehab Specialist)

That sharp, shooting pain down your leg or deep in your buttock is often mislabelled as "Sciatica." Sciatica is the symptom—the nerve irritation—but we need to find the cause to truly fix it!
As a BSc Qualified Exercise and Rehabilitation Specialist, I focus on the two main culprits:

The Piriformis Muscle (The Hip Culprit): For many, the sciatic nerve passes directly through or under the Piriformis muscle in the buttock. If this muscle is tight (often due to prolonged sitting or unbalanced training), it can compress the nerve.

The Lower Back (The Spinal Culprit): Nerve compression can also come from stiffness or disc irritation in the lower lumbar spine. This requires careful assessment to distinguish from Piriformis Syndrome.

My Solution: Targeted Release & Nerve Decompression. My 60 minute session includes both advanced manual therapy and evidence-based exercises to calm the nerve down and stop the irritation.

Deep Tissue Work: Targeted release of the Piriformis and surrounding glutes.

Nerve Flossing: Specific movements to gently mobilize the nerve and reduce sensitivity.

Root Cause Rehab: A customized plan to correct the pelvic stability or spinal mechanics causing the compression.

Don't live with nerve pain. It is treatable with the right approach.

Book your Initial Sciatic Pain Assessment (60 min slot) this week and get a clear, effective plan for long-term relief.

I have availability Mon/Tue/Wed evenings and Saturday.

Clinic FAQs: Everything You Need to Know:

1. Where are you located and is there parking?
"I am based in a private, professional studio in [Your Street/Area], Cramlington. There is free, easy parking right outside the door, so you don't need to worry about city center traffic or parking fees!"

2. What should I wear to my appointment?
"To allow for an effective physical assessment and treatment, please wear loose, comfortable clothing. Gym shorts or leggings and a vest top are ideal. I always use professional draping techniques with towels to ensure your comfort and privacy throughout the session."

3. Does Sports Therapy hurt?
"While deep tissue work can sometimes be 'intense,' it should never be unbearably painful. I work within your pain tolerance and use a 'pressure scale' (1–10) to ensure the treatment is effective but comfortable. You may feel some mild soreness for 24–48 hours after, similar to the feeling after a good workout."

4. I’m not an athlete—can I still come?
"Absolutely! While it’s called 'Sports Therapy,' the techniques are just as effective for 'desk-based' neck pain, repetitive strain from gardening, or general muscle tension. If you have muscles, I can help!"

5. How many sessions will I need?
"Every body is different. After our initial 60-minute assessment and treatment, I’ll provide you with a recovery plan. Some clients find one session provides great relief, while others prefer a monthly 'maintenance' visit to keep aches at bay."

🩹 3 MISTAKES PEOPLE MAKE WITH ACHILLES PAIN 🩹
Dealing with a painful heel? Most people try to fix it themselves, but often make these three common mistakes:

1️⃣ Complete Rest: Tendons actually hate complete rest! They become weaker and less able to handle weight. We need "Relative Rest"—swapping running for swimming or cycling while we rebuild the tendon.

2️⃣ Stretching Only: While it feels good, just stretching a painful Achilles can sometimes compress the tendon and make it worse. We need Strength (Loading), not just length.

3️⃣ Ignoring the Morning Warning: If it's stiff in the morning, your tendon is telling you it's struggling with the "load" from the day before.

My Advice? Start with isometric holds (holding a calf raise position) to reduce pain, and get a professional assessment to find out why the tendon is overloaded. Is it your footwear? Your calf strength? Your gait?

Let’s get you back to 100%.

📢 NEW SERVICE ALERT: The "Tune-Up" Your Body Deserves! 🏃‍♀️💨
You wouldn't drive your car for 10,000 miles without an oil change, so why do you do it to your body?

I am excited to announce a new dedicated service: Sports Maintenance & Recovery (60 Mins).

Often, we wait until something "snaps" or "pops" before seeing a professional. But the secret to the pros? Maintenance.

✨ What is a Maintenance Session?
Unlike my Initial Assessment (which is for diagnosing new injuries), this session is 100% focused on keeping you moving.

This 60-minute session is perfect for:

✅ Deep Tissue Recovery: Flushing out legs after a long run or heavy lifting week.
✅ Improving Mobility: Loosening up those tight hips or shoulders that hold back your form.
✅ Injury Prevention: Finding and fixing "niggles" before they become 6-month setbacks.
✅ Stress Relief: Letting your nervous system recover from high-intensity training.

🏆 Who is this for?
Whether you’re training for your first 5k, a veteran powerlifter, or just someone living a high-activity lifestyle, this is your time to recover like an athlete.
Stop "powering through" the tightness and start performing better.

🏈 THE ACL: What You Need to Know About the "Pop" 🦵
The Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) is one of the most common—and most feared—injuries in sports. Whether you’re a weekend warrior or a pro athlete, understanding this injury is the first step to a strong recovery.

🔍 What is it?
The ACL is a key ligament inside your knee joint that connects your thigh bone to your shin bone. Its main job? Keeping your knee stable during side-to-side movements and preventing the shin from sliding out in front of the thigh.

💥 How does it happen?
Most ACL injuries aren't actually caused by collisions! They usually happen during:
Sudden deceleration: Trying to stop on a dime.

Pivoting: Changing direction quickly with a planted foot.

Awkward landings: Coming down off-balance from a jump.

The "Pop": Many people report hearing or feeling a distinct "pop" followed by immediate swelling.

⏳ How long is the road to recovery?
There is no "quick fix" for an ACL. Healing times vary:
Non-surgical: 3–6 months of intensive physical therapy.

Post-Surgery: Typically 9–12 months before returning to high-impact sports.
It’s a marathon, not a sprint, but patience pays off in long-term joint health!

✅ How Sports Therapy makes the difference
Rehab isn't just about "getting stronger." As a Sports Therapist, I help you through every phase:

Reducing Inflammation: Managing pain and swelling early on.

Restoring Range of Motion: Getting that knee moving naturally again.

Proprioception Training: Re-training your brain and body to "talk" to each other so you feel stable.

Sport-Specific Power: Building the explosive strength needed to return to the game with confidence.

🛑 Dealing with a knee injury or preparing for surgery?
Don't navigate the recovery alone. Let’s build a custom plan to get you back to peak performance.
