Those living with us had a blast with some friendly competition but with a twist! We played ping pong connect 4 or pong by colour depending on capacity. Using bright coloured balls to keep it intresting!

Lots of laughter, concentration and cheering filled the room as everyone aimed for their winning spot. These little games bring out big smiles and a healthy bit of rivalry too! 😉

Who says care homes can't have raves? Astor Court turned up the dance music over the decades and turned down the lights for our very own neon rave.

The lounge was transformed with black lights, glow sticks, neon balloons, disco balls and plenty of colour. Those living with us and staff got stuck into the fun with custom festival wristbands, funky glasses, wings, you name it we had it. Everyone really enjoyed the immersive experience, complete with some amazing dance moves and laughter all round.

Of course, no rave is complete without drinks! Our bar served up some very special care home themed mocktails which included: memory lane mojito, zimmer on the beach and golden years glowtinis.

It was an afternoon full of colour, music and joy! Proving that fun doesnt have an age limit!

👵Happy Word Senior Citizen Day!👴

Today we celebrate the wonderful seniors in our home and across the world. This day is all about recognising the wisdom, stories and joy that older generations bring into our lives every single day.

We spoke to the lovely people living with us and asked "what's one piece of advice or wisdom you'd like to share to the younger generation?". Not only did we have some cracking answers but it sparked memories and some beautiful conversation. Taking a moment to appreciate just how special those in our home are!

🦆Are you a lucky duck?🦆

The people living with us enjoyed a game full of cute rubber duckies and concentration, and a whole lot of quacking fun! Everyone tried their hand at our Lucky Ducks game, fishing out colourful ducks, each with their own hidden number underneath - a number is chosen each round and selected as the lucky duck. Taking it in turns until the lucky duck is chosen.

Such a simple game for all capabilities that brought out big smiles and even a bit of cheeky bragging between friends.

Well done to our winners! Your bragging rights last till next time....

🎼🎷What a treat we had yesterday! Astor Court was alive with music as a 10 piece band filled the air with toe-tapping songs and singalong favourites 🎼🎷

The people living with us had an experience to savour! With constant clapping, singing and even a little dance. The smiles on their faces said it all!

A huge thank you to the amazingly talented musicians for bringing such joy and energy to our afternoon. Its days like these that remind us just how powerful music can be.

Strike A Pose! Its National Photo Day!

Today at Astor Court was filled with laughter, hats, wigs and one or two silly faces as we celebrated National Photo Day in style. The people living with us used More...Creativity with colourful outfits and posed with our giant DIY photo frame, because life's too short for boring photos.

Thank you too all that joined in the fun (and those who managed to keep a straight face long enough). These memories remind us how much joy we can have being a little silly.

We're looking for some wonderful volunteers to help us bring our garden to life! Whether you've got green fingers, love a bit of DIY, or just fancy getting stuck in with some friendly faces. We would love your support!

We're currently working on getting all of our new plants potted, building some garden furniture and creating More...Relaxation in our outdoor space for everyone to enjoy.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came along, donated, helped out or just joined us for a cuppa and a dance at our Summer Fair on Saturday!

We had a variety of different stalls, from our traditional bake sale to random bottle tombola, and of course some amazing live entertainment to get those hips swinging!

None of this would be possible without the support from staff, families and relatives 😁 The smiles, laughter and sense of community made the day so special. We're feeling grateful and proud. Heres a little look at some lovely memories that were made... 📸
