The UK Health Security Agency has issued a yellow heat-health alert (HHA) for the North East, from 9am tomorrow (Tuesday 12 August) until 6pm on Wednesday 13 August.

It's important to make sure you keep yourself and those around you safe during the hot weather.

Some tips to beat the heat are:
☑️ Stay out of the direct sun, especially during the hottest part of the day (11am and 3pm)
☑️ Protect yourself. Apply sunscreen, wear a hat, walk in the shade and wear light, loose-fitting clothes
☑️ Drink plenty of fluids and avoid excess alcohol consumption
☑️ Avoid extreme physical exertion

For more advice on how to stay safe in the heat, visit the NHS website: https://orlo.uk/l2ijT

For more information and guidance about the yellow HHA, visit the UK Health Security Agency website: https://orlo.uk/4JrPZ
