Brian enjoyed a lovely birthday lunch with his wife and daughter. The room was decorated with balloons, including a sheep balloon, which held fond memories for Brian.

After a lunch (of Brian's favourite foods) staff presented Brian with a birthday cake and a rendition of "Happy Birthday" which made Brian very emotional.

During yesterday's armchair exercise with Millie residents were encouraged to take part in ways that suited them best.... Some joined in with the armchair exercises, others enjoyed singing along and listening to the music, while some preferred to simply relax and take it all in. A number of residents especially enjoyed the pom-pom dancing, bringing energy, movement, and plenty of smiles to the session.
Exercise is so important for keeping both the body and mind active and healthy.

On Wednesday as part of our National Pet Month celebrations residents enjoyed a special visit from Animalia Encounters, who brought along some of their furry and not so furry animals for the resident's to hold and interact with.
Tortoises, baby rabbits, skinny pigs, guinea pigs and a bearded dragon were all warmly received. The experience brought back many happy memories of pets residents had as children which they spoke about fondly, while the more unusual like the bearded dragon and skinny pigs sparked curiosity and fascination.
The room was filled with laughter and smiles throughout the visit. Animals are wonderful therapy and play an important role in supporting wellbeing.
