Summer’s here — and so is the sunshine! ☀️
Most of us love the warmer weather and that feel-good sun on our faces. But with temperatures rising this week, here are our top tips for staying cool and comfortable:
🔺 Avoid the sun between 11am–3pm – it’s the hottest part of the day, so stick to the shade if you’re heading out.
🔺 Dress smart – go for light, loose cotton layers, a wide-brimmed hat, and sunglasses with proper UV protection.
🔺 Stay hydrated – sip water, squash or fruit juice regularly (don’t wait until you’re thirsty)!
🔺 Keep your home cool – close blinds in the day, open windows in the evening, and use a damp cloth or cool flannel to refresh your neck and arms.
🔺 Know the signs – watch out for dehydration (dark urine, cramps, confusion) or heat exhaustion (dizziness, nausea). If in doubt, cool down, drink up, and call 111 if symptoms don’t improve.
Let’s stay safe, stay supported, and enjoy the sunshine together!
