Heiwa Reiki Therapy

Heiwa Reiki Therapy Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. What is Reiki? The name Reiki best translates as ‘Spiritual Energy.

It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. Reiki is a Japanese ‘holistic therapy’ technique used for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" or “hands off”, or a combination of the two, and is based on the idea that an unseen, but proven "life force energy" flows through us all, and it is this energy that causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, which in turn can lead to both mental and physical problems. If one’s internal life force energy levels are high, then we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki was developed in Japan by Mikao Usui in the mid 19th century, and it is a non religious, spiritual practice and healing system, and is now practiced all around the world. How could Reiki help you? Below is a list of examples of how Reiki may be able to support your healing journey

What should you expect during a Reiki treatment and what to expect at your first appointment and treatment. A typical Reiki treatment will normally last between 20 and 90 minutes. There would be a short introduction or chat about the process and what you would hope to get from the treatment. At this time you would let your practitioner know about any symptoms you would like addressed or if there are places in the body on which you’d like them to focus. Also, let the practitioner know if you have any injuries or places that are sensitive to touch. Your Reiki practitioner will ask that you wear clean, loose-fitting, comfortable clothing that covers your arms and chest area from the neck down to your toes. You may wish to wear natural fabrics such as cotton, linen, or silk. Remove your shoes, jewellery, and glasses before your session, and keep your phone switched off or leave it behind. You’ll remain fully clothed throughout the treatment, and be asked to lie down on a treatment table, They will cover you with a blanket. Usually soft, relaxing music will be playing in the background. For the most part there won’t be any talking during the session, but you can feel free to let your practitioner know if there’s something you need to feel more comfortable or to share what you’re experiencing. During the treatment you may experience sensations in the body such as heat or tingling as the Reiki energy flows, or you may feel no sensations at all, but this does not mean that the Reiki energy is not flowing. Some people report seeing visualizations such as colours or pictures, or having memories appear. Try to allow whatever arises to pass without attaching too much meaning to it. Your experiences may become deeper the more you continue with reiki. The practitioner will place their hands in recognised positions on, or over the body, and stay in each location for between 2 and 5 minutes. These positions will be demonstrated prior to the commencement of the treatment. There is no pressure, no massage, or physical manipulation involved. Intimate areas of the body are “out of bounds” and will not be touched. What to expect after your treatment
Drink plenty of water after your session. Some people feel calm, peaceful, or energized. You may also feel tired. You will be given the opportunity to ask questions or share your experience with the practitioner. Training and qualification
My training and qualification is in both the traditional Eastern and Western lineages of Reiki.

So true.

So true.

For Septembers theme, I wanted to share the concept of Ikigai - originating from Okinawa - a famous blue zone where a large number of residents enjoy an active and very long life. Ikigai philosophy aligns beautifully with our reiki philosophy and even also with psychology and life mentoring. Our elders from all cultures, have so much wisdom to share. I hope these daily wisdoms inspire!

May not look that impressive, but this is where Mikao Usui rediscovered Reiki and gave it to the world.

Why did I call my Reiki Practice 'Heiwa Reiki'?

The Japanese Kanji for Heiwa are 平和 and in Japanese, together they mean 'Peace'.

Individually the Kanji mean
平 - Hei - 'flat' or 'calm'
和 - wa - 'harmony' or 'gentleness'

But when combined 'Heiwa' goes beyond the simple absence of conflict, (peace), and signifies a peaceful state where balance and harmony are maintained within society and one's inner self.
In Japanese culture, etiquette and communication often revolve around ensuring balance, avoiding conflict and promoting mutual respect which leads to living a peaceful life.
A peaceful life leads to less stress, a better flow of energy within the body, and this can, in turn lead to increased wellbeing and less illness.
Reiki treatments work on restoring the flow and balance of energy in the body.

Today is the time to start looking after your own physical and mental health.

Doesn’t matter when you start it only matters that you make a positive step towards self care when you are ready.

We have found that you need a combination of exercises and daily practices that don’t take up lots of time but do help you feel stronger and more in control.

During menopause and peri menopause we can often feel like we are no longer in control and our body has its own agenda!!! 😝

Is it time for you to take back control and take steps towards self care?

Next coaching program starts 20th January- sign up now for £28 per month ❤️❤️❤️
