šŸ« Emotional eating – we've all been there.

That moment when stress, boredom or overwhelm has you reaching for the snacks: not because you're hungry, but because you're feeling something you don’t quite know how to handle.

You're not alone. Emotional eating is incredibly common, and it doesn’t mean there’s anything ā€˜wrong’ with you. It’s a coping mechanism: but it’s one that can leave you feeling worse afterwards.

Here’s the truth: food can bring comfort, but it won’t solve what’s going on beneath the surface.

✨ Start small:
• Pause before you reach for food: ask yourself what am I really needing right now?
• Try swapping the autopilot snack for a walk, a stretch, or even a deep breath.
• Be kind to yourself. Awareness is the first step: not restriction or guilt.

The idea of trapped energy in cells after trauma comes from both scientific and holistic perspectives. Physically, trauma—whether emotional or physical—can lead to changes in the nervous system, muscle memory, and cellular responses. On a physiological level, stress and trauma can dysregulate the autonomic nervous system, keeping the body in a state of hyperarousal (fight-or-flight) or shutdown (freeze). This can lead to chronic tension, pain, or lingering symptoms even after an injury has healed.From a more somatic or energetic perspective, some theories suggest that traumatic experiences imprint on the body at a cellular level, creating stuck energy that needs to be released. This concept aligns with ideas from somatic therapies, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and even quantum biology, which explores how emotions and trauma might affect cellular function.
