💪 Most of us already know the importance of having energy. Simply put, it is important to have energy to be able to concentrate at work and be productive.

🔋 Some of you may even think that the process of achieving energy is complex, hard or you’ve tried so many times, there just isn’t a point.

✨ Today, I am going to show that you it doesn’t have to be that way and that there is hope.

I’d like to introduce you to Priya, a happy client who also had her doubts but she took the leap, invested, and now, has better energy levels and is able to focus a lot better at work.

I want to talk to you about how to reduce bloating so you can feel more comfortable and confident going out. So stay with me as I'm going to share with you a 3 step process on how to reduce bloating every single time.

When I was suffering from severe chronic fatigue syndrome, I also had bloating.

I went to a Naturopathic Nutritionist and she did a food intolerance test and detected that I was sensitive to several foods including cow's milk, beef, chocolate and mushrooms. She recommended that I avoid these foods for a certain period time and gave me recommendations for replacement foods. She also put me on a gut healing protocol including supplements.

After following her plan for a couple of months, my bloating had gone right down and I had a lot more energy! I even dropped a couple of dress sizes! I felt so much better.

After a few months, I could reintroduce those foods without reacting to them.

So to summarise the 3 steps you need to do are:-
-Contact a Nutritional Therapist specialising in gut health and join their programme.
-Do food intolerance testing with them to find out which foods you are reacting to.
-Follow their gut healing plan including elimination, replacement, gut healing and reintroduction.

It makes me so happy when a client sends me a testimonial about how my programme has helped them🥰

“When I first had the initial conversation with Kate about my health concerns, I felt that I had too many things I wanted to tackle at the same time, and I was worried that I would have too many things to implement in one go.

But Kate did an amazing job of helping me focus on one thing at a time.

I found Kate’s programme very easy to follow and was able to implement some very important things like drinking more water and finding ways to keep increasing my water intake.

What's Cookin' Wednesday.

I used to make this recipe for dinner when I was ill with CFS. If you want a lower carb option you can exchange the wild rice for 60g quinoa.

Trout, Wild Rice & Vegetables Recipe

Serves 1
Ingredients
85g Wild rice
Pinch Salt
1 Fillet Trout
1 inch slice Cabbage
1 sliced Carrot
1 Tbsp Olive oil

Instructions:
Fill a pan ¾ full of water. Add a pinch of salt and heat until boiling. Rinse the rice in a sieve in cold water. Add the rice to the pan. Heat for 18mins.

Add water to a steamer and heat on a medium heat. When the steamer is steaming, add the trout to lower steamer tray. Add the cabbage to the top tray and cook for 15mins. Add the 10min mark add the carrot.

Drain the rice and serve with the rice, cabbage and carrot. Drizzle the olive oil over the trout, season with salt and pepper and serve.

Are You Trying To Patch Up Your Tiredness Instead of Fixing it?🩹

When life gets busy, we often resort to patching up our problems instead of fixing them...🩹

When we have no energy we drink more coffee...☕

When we can’t sleep we take a sleeping pill…💊

While this gives us temporary relief..it does nothing to actually fix the issue.

When it comes to tiredness, patching the problem will get you nowhere, and may even make the problem worse!

It is so important to spend your resources on things that will get to the root cause of tiredness vs. continuing to spend your time, money and energy focusing on temporary results.

What's Cookin' Wednesday

When I was ill with chronic fatigue, my Mum used to make these flapjacks for me as a healthy snack.

Gluten Free Oat Flapjacks Recipe

Makes 9

Ingredients

100g Dates
100ml Filtered water
100g Butter or Coconut Oil
1tbsp Ground flaxseed
2tbsp Agave nectar
50g Almonds
50g Pumpkin seeds
200g Gluten free oat flakes

Method

Soak the almonds and pumpkin seeds overnight.

Preheat the oven to 180C.

Chop the dates and add to a pan with the water. Simmer until the dates are soft.

Now add the coconut oil and allow to melt. Add the agave nectar and mix in.

Chop the almonds and add to the pan with the whole pumpkin seed. Mix well.

Finally pour in the oat flakes and mix thoroughly.

Pour the mixture into a square baking tray and press down firmly with a wooden spoon.

Bake in the oven for 20 minutes.

Remove and leave to cool. Now cut into 9 pieces.

Store in a cool, dry place and eat within a week.

Nutritional Therapists work with individuals who are experiencing feeling tired and use diet, lifestyle changes, diagnostic tools and supplements to help them alleviate their symptoms.🥗

Unlike a Dietician, a Nutritional Therapist does testing to get to the root cause of the issue and looks at vitamin and mineral deficiencies using diet and supplements to resolve these deficiencies. In my programme I take you from feeling exhausted to energised.

Tell me if you can relate…

A lot of people tell me one of the reasons they don’t meal prep is because either they or someone in their home won’t eat leftovers.

Understandable!

But guess what? It’s still possible to get all of the time-saving and stress-busting benefits of meal prepping WITHOUT having to eat last night’s dinner!

Here’s how: instead of cooking entire meals in advance, you cook and/or prep your INGREDIENTS ahead of time.

Proteins
Carbs like whole grains, rice, quinoa, etc.
Pre-chop your veggies

Then, just before it’s time to eat, just assemble the meal from your prepped ingredients.

Some ideas:

You could poach chicken breasts, brown turkey or tofu, or roast a chicken.
Bake some sweet potatoes, steam some rice, or prep some quinoa.
Chop onions, dice carrots, or slice peppers.

Having everything prepped and on standby makes throwing together a balanced meal fast and easy.

A chef friend of mine once told me:

“Cooking is easy. All you have to do is make sure all of the ingredients taste good. If they all taste good, then your meal will taste good.”

And it’s true!

You could create a taco or Buddha bowl, make a stir fry, assemble a casserole, or even create a go-to meal when I’m busy: the Anything Bowl!

The Anything Bowl is definitely NOT gourmet but it is delicious.

All you do is combine a portion each of protein, starchy carbs, and vegetables in a bowl, and (this is the key) top it with your favourite healthy sauce or seasoning.

You could add guacamole, salad dressing, or olive oil. Heat it up, and voila! It’s time to eat.
