Another diastasis recti success!
Being aware that something is not quite right with your core after having a baby is common.
Understanding what is going on something that many women are not told about putting them at risk of pelvic health issues and hernia.
The re**us abdominals separate as baby grows and although they are supposed to go back as part of the postpartum recovery, we are often left with a gap.
Going back to the wrong exercise too soon can make matters worse so it’s important to do your postnatal rehab!!!!
WHAT!!! Postnatal rehab!! No one gave me that.
Exactly, in the UK any health checks after birth normally focus on the baby not the mother.

Congratulations to Dawn who has worked so hard to fix her diastasis recti after giving birth to Jack 4 and a half months ago.
Dawn first started working with Sarah after the birth of her first child 7 years ago. She had a large abdominal separation that took a long time to repair.
Dawn worked so hard initially with Hypopressives but as she recovered Pilates was introduced and then discovered her love of the Gym and Spin classes.
Second pregnancy and Dawn’s mindset was totally focused on staying healthy to minimise her diastasis and get back to what she loves.
She has done everything right Hypopressives, nutrition to aid recovery, lots of fresh air and walking and we are so impressed with her progress.
In Dawn’s last session with Sarah her diastasis had reduce significantly meaning she was giving the go ahead to return to the gym and spin.
We think the smile says it all.
Well done Dawn it’s been an absolute pleasure working with you and we cannot wait to watch your journey from here.

Heard the expression it takes a village!
We are building our village to support our community. Shared experience and talking about symptoms, advice on what helps and just knowing you are not alone truly helps.
Many women feel isolated and overwhelmed by their diagnosis talking to other women who have been in the same situation but come through it gives that light at the end of the tunnel.

Mondays online we run three morning classes. Yesterday it was 9:15 weights blast!! This is interval weights with 45 seconds of work 15 second rest so it feels achievable for everyone and we can work with weights that suit us.
10:10 Pilates to get that core strength but also focus on pelvic stability to improve symptoms and function.
11:00 Hypopressives express, a quick 15 minutes of this all important breath work.
Some come to one class, maybe Pilates as women feel stronger they feel more confident to join the other classes.
It is always so inspiring to see how far these women in our community have come, to watch them get stronger and try new things.

Last week we took a bit of a step back from social media to to recharge our batteries.
Social media can get very loud with lots of noise and when you are looking for help and advice it can take you down a rabbit hole leading to confusion.

What at amazing week we have had this week.
