Recognising the early signs that a child or teen may be having difficulty with their mental health lends itself to offering early intervention and therefore reducing longer term issues.

In this blog, I explore the signs that children may be having difficulty with their mental ill health and 5 simple ways to support them.

The thing about mental health, is that we all have it. If we imagine it as a swinging pendulum, throughout out life times, our mental health moves between good mental well-being and poor mental well-being, depending on life circumstances, events and situations. Everyone can have days when their ment...

How safe is your child's social media?

How tech savvy are you?

Is your child's social media privacy protected?

Do you know the risks of social media and steps you can take to protect your child?

Or do you panic that they are quickly becoming the gazelle surrounded by lions in the wilderness?

Social media is a mindfield, no quicker have you worked out how to use it, than something else pops up!

Every week in my office, I work with children and teens (and some adults) who have found themselves at the raw end of social media, from:
- exposure to inappropriate content
- to contact from inappropriate adults
- to pressure to send inappropriate content
- to cyberbullying and harassment

The first step to protecting children is to EDUCATE ourselves so that we can have open conversations, explain the risks and help them put settings in place that protect their privacy and security so we can limit some of those risks.

After the upset of Tik Tok exposing children to traumatic content, I created this 40 minute Social Media Masterclass for parents, I take a look at Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok and some quick and easy steps you can take. We will look at:
* The low down on Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok
* The good, the bad and the ugly of social media
* The echo-affect - what you need to know algorithms
* How to set up privacy settings to protect your child on Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok
* Steps you can take to protect online device and computer use at home
* Monitoring systems you can use on social media

It's available now, at an introductory price of £9.99. Get your copy at:

I frequently speak to parents about navigating co-parenting and how to best support their children through this transition. It can be a difficult and scary time for children and parents and starting on the right foot can offer the best support for children's well-being and mental health.

In this blog, I share 5 simple strategies you can implement to stay connected with your children through co-parenting.

Family separations bring with them a great deal of emotions, for parents, children and the wider family. As parents adjust to co-parenting finding ways to connect, interact and support children in an optimal way is paramount. Whilst some families glide into co-parenting, others can find that the tra...

'Hi! how are you?'

We say as we walk on by.... not waiting for a response....

Loneliness is classed as one of the greatest factors contributing to poor mental health... we know everything about people's lives from a newsfeed but little about what makes them tick, how they feel, what's going on behind the pretty pictures.....

Connection - talking - interacting - caring = that's better in person

So why not reconnect with one person this week - ask them how they are - and WAIT for an answer

We often get emailed to enquire if we work with children who are neurodivergent.

The answer is yes, a large quantity of the children we work with are diagnosed with Autism or ADHD (or a combination) or parents are seeking input as to whether this is the case

We cannot diagnose, but we can support families to explore the challenges that their children are experiencing and seek to provide strategies or support with next steps
