A cataract is simply a clouding of the natural lens inside the eye — something that happens gradually for most people as part of the ageing process.

𝗕 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗹𝗲𝗽𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘀
Blepharitis is a very common condition where the eyelid margins become inflamed. It often causes:
• Red or sore eyelids
• Flakes around the lashes
• Itching or burning
• A "gritty" feeling
• Occasional crusting in the mornings

It's usually caused by blocked oil glands along the edges of the eyelids. When these glands don't produce enough healthy oils, the tear film becomes unstable — leading to irritation, dryness and general discomfort.

In winter, symptoms tend to flare up because cold air and central heating can dry the eyes further.

The good news: blepharitis is manageable.
Warm compresses, lid hygiene and, in some cases, specific drops or in-practice treatments can make a huge difference.
