In all my years working as a physio in professional football I have never seen a goalie need to take a penalty (except when training of course!)

Don’t be put off by the signs! You can still access the Physio Works clinic in Lapford approaching from the A377. There is a diversion via Eastington if you are approaching from the north.

Today is "blue Monday" which is thought to be the most depressing day of the year. Did you know that exercise, as well as being good for us physically, it is also good for us mentally. Exercise is a natural mood booster, it lowers stress levels and improves energy levels. Any amount of exercise is better than nothing, but ideally we should be doing least 150 minutes of moderate exercise each week, that's just over 20 minutes a day. If you are driving to Lapford for a physiotherapy appointment this week via the A377, don’t be put off by the “Road Closed” signs, you can still get to us from the south. The road is closed from Forches to Orchard Cross (there is still access to the carpark at Orchard Cross). Clients coming from the north (Chawleigh/Witheridge direction) there is a diversion in place via Eastington, please allow a few minutes extra for your journey.

If you have an appointment with us for physiotherapy, acupuncture or massage between 20th-24th Jan please be aware that once again we have roadworks to the north of Lapford. The road will be closed between Orchard Cross and Forches with a diversion in place via Eastington. If your journey takes you that way then please allow extra time for your journey. Access to the clinic via the A377 is not affected.

If you're attending an appointment this week and your journey brings you to Lapford from the north (Chawleigh / Witheridge direction) please allow a few minutes extra for your journey as the road is closed from Forches Cross to the top of Lapford village between 9.30am-3.30pm. A diversion is in place via Eastington Lane.

How are those New Years resolutions going? If yours is to do more exercise or enter a sporting event, make sure you build up your training gradually so to allow your body to adapt to the increased load so you don’t get injured. Even the gentlemen below are at risk of neck, elbow and shoulder injury if they are not used to ironing! Very many of the sports injuries I see are due to training error.

If you would like any help with an injury or training ni**le, get in touch. The clinic is open normal hours from Monday 6th Jan ‘25.

As 2024 fades, I’d like to wish all my clients, past, present and future a very happy and healthy 2025.

2024 marks 2 years of private practice (physiotherapy, acupuncture and massage) in Canterbury House in Lapford and has been my busiest yet, so I’d like to say a huge thank you to all my clients that have been supporting me through these difficult economic times.
