Rolling up my sleeves 😁

It’s holiday season, and like many leaders, this is when we roll up our sleeves and step in to support. It doesn’t happen every day, but it’s an important part of how we work together.

Last week, we picked apples in the garden, took photos in the park, (prep for project world photography week)👌. We tried a little meditation, and even collected pine cones. Later, we turned fresh ingredients grown in our garden, tomatoes, onions and garlic into bruschetta with garlic bread. A simple but meaningful way to connect.

What struck me most wasn’t just the activities, but the energy and care the team bring into everything they do. When they popped into the office with their creations, it showed me again how much fun, creativity and commitment they share with one another.

For me, it reinforced that leadership isn’t only about strategy and delivery, it’s also about stepping in when needed, creating space to connect, and building the kind of culture where people look after each other. That’s where the real strength of teamwork lies ☺️

😀 Smiles Go Miles 😃

A big thank you to our local Co-op Readesdale Avenue, Crewe for their generous donation, presented to our Supported Adults by Ciaran. This funding will help us replenish our activity supplies for therapeutic use – from colouring books and crayons to jigsaws, games and other fun activities.

Your kindness will make a real difference to those who access our services, and we are truly grateful for the Co-op’s support in our community. ☺️

🌱 Take a Seat in Our Growing Space 🌱

Two years of transforming our outdoor space we’ve finally put some finishing touches in our community garden — tables and chairs are now in place, ready for everyone to come together and enjoy.

It’s been an incredible journey and the impact we’ve seen so far is truly inspiring. I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved ☺️

Can’t wait to see this space buzzing with life and connection for years to come. 💚

✨Team Wishing Well in Action✨

We’re taking a moment to reflect on what was truly an incredible day at the The Nantwich Show.

It was more than just an opportunity to raise brand awareness — it was a chance to be part of something big, a family day filled with fun! Businesses and communities coming together in a meaningful way.

Our team proudly stepped in to deliver:
💛 A Calm Corner, where children could take time out and find a moment of peace.

💛 A welcoming Volunteer Breakout Area for those giving their time on show day.

💛💁‍♀️💁 Hospitality, where our amazing Supported Adults put their training into action in the Sponsors’ Marquee - serving delicious fruit kebabs made by our external catering team and flapjacks made by our talented catering team at Eagle Bridge Cafe.

💛 Through our Cadent Gas partnership, Matthew Reen and volunteers were on hand to share practical advice on energy efficiency and sign ups for the Priority Services Register, great job 👏

Networking for me too! I managed quick catch ups with Paul Colman, Courtney Dodd, Julia Worthington MCIOF(Dip), Claire Smith, Lauren Tudor, Financial Planner, Sharon Windsor, Gill Fox. I even managed to make new friends from HJ Lea Oakes & Adam Yates.

Thank you Liz Parkin for believing in us to deliver on the day. Just one piece of the thousand-piece jigsaw that made up this year’s show.

Congratulations to all those involved for delivering such a phenomenal event. We’re already looking forward to the chance to join you again next year 😉

🌟 The Nantwich Show 🌟 is nearly here - and we’re incredibly proud to be taking part in a big way for us, for the very first time! 🌟

It all started with a simple callout from the event organisers 📣, volunteers wanted to support this much-loved family event.

With that in mind, I decided to meet with Liz Parkin to explore how The Wishing Well Project could truly get involved and make a meaningful contribution.

From that meeting, something really special has grown.

As a charity, this is a major step for us, and we’re thrilled to be supporting four key areas within the show – working alongside our dedicated staff, partner volunteers, and some of our incredible supported adults, who’ll be putting their skills and training into practice.

Here’s where you’ll find us on the day:

🍽 Hospitality & Catering – led by our amazing supported adults, who’ll be showcasing their talents by supporting in the Sponsors Marquee and Volunteer breakout area, creating a warm and professional welcome.
🧘‍♀️ Calm Corner – a peaceful space located next to the Floral Marquee, offering gentle, engaging activities designed to help children and young people step away from the noise and sensory overload.
💚 Wishing Well Services Showcase – shining a light on the wide range of health and wellbeing services we provide in the community.
🔌 Energy Efficiency & Support – in partnership with our fantastic friends at Cadent Gas Limited helping people learn how to reduce their energy costs and access practical support.

We’ve never taken on supporting something at this scale before – but with the passion of our team and the strength of our partnerships, we’re excited for what the day will bring. There’s something for everyone 🚜🐑🐄🍦💐🪴

🎉 We did it! Our final group of supported adults and supported adults staff have now completed their first aid training - we couldn’t be prouder! ⛑️👏

🏰 Skills, Experience & Heritage 🧹✨

This week, we had the pleasure of returning to the magnificent Crewe Hall Hotel & Spa with our supported adults, continuing our brilliant partnership focused on developing practical, transferable skills in a real-world setting.

Our visit gave participants the chance to work alongside the experienced housekeeping team, with Vicky and Kate sharing their time and expertise. From room turnaround to attention to detail, the skills gained today go far beyond the workplace – building confidence, communication, and independence in everyday life.

What makes these visits so special is the belief and support from people like Head Housekeeper, Nicole Green, who coordinates these opportunities with such care, and David Rowley General Manager, whose leadership champions our shared vision – supporting adults to and thrive through meaningful experiences.

The day wrapped up with a fabulous dining experience, themed around Asian infusion cuisine. With an incredible range of flavours and dishes to enjoy, it gave our team the chance to indulge, explore new tastes, and share a meal together in style. The catering & hospitality team went above and beyond to make our dining experience unforgettable 👏

To top it all off, we were treated to a guided tour of the stunning and historic Crewe Hall. For many in the group, it was their first time exploring a place of such grandeur – rich in character, stories, and a deep sense of heritage.

We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing collaboration with Crewe Hall. Not only is it a fantastic place to visit and stay, it’s also a space where community partnerships can flourish, and where learning comes to life.

✨Together After Hours✨

Last night our amazing SAS (Supported Adults Service) team took a much needed break to spend some time together. An evening filled with delicious food, lots of belly laughs 🙈 and connection. 🍛💬✨

What many don’t always see is the emotional depth of the work this team does every day. From supporting individuals through anxiety and emotional upset to handling moments of challenging behaviour, the team responds with strength, care, and a calm, compassionate presence.

We’ve put in place thoughtful strategies that help us create a safe, supportive space, not just once in a while, but every single day. We work hard to deliver a first-class service, and everything we do is rooted in our values of kindness, courage, strength, and resilience.

This evening reminded us why we do what we do — and how important it is to support each other along the way, too.

And of course… Good vibes only! Because when you lead with heart, those good vibes come naturally 💛

“Together We Grow” garden is thriving 👌

We were lucky enough to sample the first home-grown strawberry today 🙈 Just 3 ripe n ready. But OH, the flavour, like sunshine wrapped in sweetness. 🍓✨

Things are sprouting, climbing, and blossoming all over the place. The veggies are vibing. The fruits are showing off. We’re growing more than food here… we’re growing joy. 💚

⭐️ Partnerships in Action ⭐️
Real Skills, Real Impact

We’re proud to continue our partnership with the incredible team at Crewe Hall, where our supported adults have once again joined the housekeeping department for hands-on experience.

These sessions are more than practical tasks — they’re about building transferable skills, growing confidence, and fostering lifelong independence.

Our heartfelt thanks go to Nicole Green
Head Housekeeper, along with Vicky and Toni, whose guidance and encouragement made this experience so meaningful. The team also enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour, deepening their understanding of its rich heritage and taking in the stunning surroundings ☺️.

A special thank you to David Rowley, for his continued investment in our mission and for championing opportunities that create real change.

We even managed to fit in lunch in the Brasserie, which was nothing short of exceptional. The team looked after us wonderfully, the food was beautifully presented, and the service was impeccable. A real showcase of the Brasserie’s high standards and charm.

If you haven’t yet been, this is your sign! The Brasserie is open to all, it’s a perfect spot to enjoy delicious food in an elegant, historic setting right on our doorstep.

🌱 Exciting news - Project update 🌱

Our “Together We Grow” project has taken another big step forward with the arrival of our brand-new potting shed installed by our community partners Keltbray.

This game-changer means we can now start growing our own seeds, nurturing them from the beginning before they make their way into our raised beds.

More plants = more fresh produce from our communiy garden.

We’re really excited about what spring holds for us and we will continue to develop and grow fresh produce to support people with their health and wellbeing - helping them with planning, prepping and cooking healthy meals.

Heartfelf thanks to Keltbray for making this possible. This collaboration is more than just a partnership, it is a testament to the power of kindness, generosity and reinforced the values that lie at the heart of our charity.

Sincere gratitude to Crewe Town Council. Your continued commitment to investing in our community has enabled us to provide vital opportunities, support to those who need it most, and create meaningful, lasting change.
