It’s been a week where things have not gone to plan, obstacles to over come and I have had no morning coffee all week!
Every day I have a black coffee to start my day and oh how I have missed it this week. I actually remembered to buy some yesterday and oh how I cherished the moment.
Anything that makes you happy, the smallest thing, make sure you do it for you.
Enjoy your morning ☕️ 🌞

After having my baby at 42 and feeling like I lost myself in some way I made a list of things I had always wanted to do.
A mountain climb was one of them.
So on the hottest day of the year in Wales I climbed Yr Wyddfa ( Snowdon).
I didn’t make it to the top. Far to hot. Not the best day to go 😂.
But I loved every minute.
The plan is to go back in autumn and full fill my wish.
What ever it is YOU want to do In life, what ever makes YOU happy give yourself that time or experience.
This is your journey, only you know which way to go . 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 🌄👩🏼‍🤝‍👩🏾💖

Apo Whang-Od , 106-year-old tattoo artist from the Philippines the oldest person ever to appear on the front of Vogue.

"Heralded as the last mambabatok of her generation, she has imprinted the symbols of the Kalinga tribe—signifying strength, bravery, and beauty—on the skin of thousands of people who have made the pilgrimage to Buscalan,"

It’s never to late, your never to old to try again, make changes and live life the way you choose.

This is your journey, your path. The loudest and best supporter you will ever find for you is YOU!

After having a break with pregnancy and a traumatic birth ( I’ll talk about that another day) I am happy to see I am back.
It’s been a journey 🛤️!
I thought I would start with a pic of me showing my gap😂.
Some people might think that statement is odd but it’s taken a long time for me to be comfortable with my smile and embrace my gap.
Since I can remember my gap made me feel insecure and reading this I’m guessing close friends will see that I never did smile showing my teeth.
So here it is in all its glory. 🤩
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

How have I not heard of Poly Styrene! ‘I am a cliche

Born Marianne Joan Elliott-Said (3 July 1957 – 25 April 2011)

A biracial woman in a predominantly white scene, Styrene was not a typical punk. Is this something her song identity speaks off?

Poly had her own mental health struggles and she was misdiagnosed with schizophrenia but suffered with bi-polar disorder.

Sadly she died of breast cancer in 2011, at the too-young age of 53.

I want to say a big thank you….
To my clients and followers for their patience.

These past few months have brought many changes. One of them bringing my beautiful daughter into the the world.

I had quiet a traumatic births & through recovery I have had time to reflect on myself. What I wanted and what I need from my practice.
Was it what I wanted? Was the design really me? Through space, time and encouragement I have made the changes I needed to.

Welcome to Latoya Blake Therapy. Exciting times are ahead 🙏🏾💖

The theme for 2022 is loneliness - the experience of feeling lonely, its effect on our mental health.

One common description of loneliness is the feeling we get when our need for rewarding social contact and relationships is not met. But loneliness is not always the same as being alone.

You may choose to be alone and live happily without much contact with other people, while others may find this a lonely experience.

Some people experience deep and constant feelings of loneliness that come from within and do not disappear, regardless of their social situation or how many friends they have.

Loneliness has many different causes, which vary from person to person. We don't always understand what it is about an experience that makes us feel lonely.

For some people, certain life events may mean they feel lonely, such as:

Experiencing a bereavement
going through a relationship break-up.

Retiring and losing the social contact you had at work.

Changing jobs and feeling isolated from your co-workers.

Starting at university.

Moving to a new area or country without family, friends or community networks.

Parental alienation refers to a process in which a parent acts or speaks in a way, without legitimate justification, that causes the child to not want to maintain a relationship with the other parent or in some cases any member of the family.

Research shows that parental alienation has negative and potentially devastating effects on children and the rejected parent. The consequences of severe parental alienation on children are well-documented, low self-esteem, self-hatred, depression, anxiety, lack of trust in others, substance abuse, not knowing how to form healthy relationships and more.

Parents and children suffer from the effects of the alienation, you are not alone with this 💖
