Race Report π₯π₯π₯
Forget the marathon WR itβs all being happening with the EP crew this last weekend π€©
We had three of the group travel to Mallorca for the 225 & 312 event π΄πΌπͺπΈ
Dave Holt was looking to gain retribution over the 225 after his attempt a couple of years back and βboyβ did he do that. Dave has trained meticulously throughout the build up with no stone left unturned so it was amazing to see him complete it in a time of 9hrs 55mins ππ»
Alan M**f who hasnβt long been with the group joined because he was taking on the 312 and although Al has an extremely busy home life we managed to put together a plan that fit his lifestyle and attack the 312 with confidence. Al had a superb ride coming home in 12hrs 28mins ππ»
Steve Gannon who can only be described as a cycling beast certainly put the miles in and that showed with an unbelievable ride crossing the line in 11hrs 25mins π₯
Mick Hutchins travelled to race in the local Kilmington Canter fell race and although not his usual discipline still managed a solid run coming home in 5th place in a time of 47:57 πͺπ»
It was of course London Marathon weekend where we had Stu Elsam and Nick Holland on the course πππ»ββοΈ
Stu has been targeting this for some months and trained extremely hard so it was amazing when he crossed the finish in 4:38 which was a 13 min PB π₯
Nick was attempting to break the world record of 3:40 dressed as a mobile phone. This is well within Nickβs capabilities but with hampered training and the heat on the day this caused Nick to slow but still managed to finish in fantastic time of 4:03 ππ»
Over the winter Phil Land has taken a slightly different approach to his training by introducing some running. Although not as much cycling it just shows if you can stay consistent and do the right type of training PBβs are still possible. This was certainly the case on Sunday at the 15mile TT at Hodent where Phil took the overall win in a time of 32:21 and a 15mile PB ππ»
Stuart Nash started his triathlon season at the Wilmslow sprint triathlon to see where his fitness is at. Stu was solid across the three disciplines with a time 1:28 placing him 56th overall and 1st V60 ππ»
