Ministry of Yoga

Ministry of Yoga Yoga, Pilates and a variety of other wellbeing activities
(225)

The aim of this sanctuary is to bring together a number of teachers/instructors to use their talents and expertise in classes encompassing all quiet varieties – Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, Meditation, and much more. In turn bringing awareness to the community – a taste of different styles, levels, teachers, at different times of the day, so that there will ultimately be “something suitable for everybody”.

Friday 20th February 6-7.30pm

Join Shelley and guest sound healer Gill Davies in a deeply restorative Yin Yoga and Sound Healing experience. Gill has shared a few words about herself and her practise below.

“I’m Gill, aka Tree of Life Sound Healing, and I’m passionate about delivering sound baths as a method of relaxation, healing, and generally improving people’s health, with sound frequencies. I work with himalayan bowls, a gong, and a variety of therapeutic percussion, including my newly acquired ocean drum, playing intuitively, and infusing each session with reiki healing. All you need to do is get comfortable, close your eyes, and allow the sounds to wash over you.”

We have been convinced by society, friends, family, strangers, governments, media etc that to be the best version of ourselves is to do more and be more.

I agree it's healthy to challenge ourselves, as long as it's balanced. Continually pushing for the next thing, be it tomorrow / next week / next year, means you're missing the present moment. A moment you will never get back.

You might be missing a smile from a loved one, a sunset, a laugh of a stranger, nature in all it's glory.

I invite you to pause and reflect on this over the week. What you ignore today might be gone tomorrow.

Not all social media posts are happy ones and we have some sad news to share with the MoY community. It is with heavy hearts that we will be saying 'ta-ra' to one of our favourite people in a few months time. 😭

Ann Cargill has decided, or rather her wonderful healing hands have decided, that it's time to retire from massage and move in a different direction. She'll be with us at MoY until the end of March, but from that point onwards will be moving into a new career and is currently in training to be a celebrant!

Ann has been a constant for Shelley and I at the Ministry of Yoga from the day we took over, and she's been there with us through all the ups and downs, always with a big smile and words of encouragement. We could not have wished for a better partner in crime as we set about making MoY into what it is today, and she deserves a huge amount of credit for the part she's played in that too.

I'm sure many of you have experienced the incredible massages that she offers, and will miss her just as much as we will. Ann famously 'doesn't do numbers', but we do, so you now have 79 days to make the most of her Healing Touch before she leaves. Catch her while you can, she's likely to be very busy! Healing Touch at The Ministry of Yoga

Ann, we love you and wish you all the best in your future career, and just want to thank you for being there alongside us for the last 9 years. Don't be a stranger!

Lots of love
Dan and Shelley

This of course leaves an Ann-sized hole in the building as she will be vacating her therapy room downstairs at MoY. The room will be free from April onwards, so if you are a massage therapist, beautician or other kind of therapist that would like a beautiful therapy room to work from in a calming, holistic environment surrounded by like-minded people, please get in touch.

Some comments from previous attendees of the next 9D Breathwork journey we have coming up on Monday with Mel McDevitt : Breathe Align Flow

This journey is less about pushing and more about remembering. The Awakening uses somatic breathwork and grounding to help you shed false identities, release mental noise, and come back into alignment with your authentic self.
