Kate Blakemore Women& Girls Champion/CEO Her - Place Charitable Trust I am a women and girls champion, and wear many hats that capture this. I am the founder of the charity Her-Place Charitable Trust . About me….

I am also a trustee for A Statue for Ada . I also work for The Learning Well I also have a Private Counselling Practice. I am an experienced Person Centred Counsellor, with the belief that every individual has the capacity to change, given the right environment. My approach encourages and supports individuals to explore and find the answers themselves. As your counsellor I offer a safe comfortable and fully confidential environment. I endeavour to offer my clients a relationship that is without judgement and is open and honest. I also offer a full hours counselling, as I have found in the past this has worked best for me and my clients. I would describe myself as a challenging counsellor, with the aim to have a deep and meaningful relationship to get to the heart of your problems, and work through these. I am a mum of 3 young children and have in the past had person centred counselling, I valued the time that I had to explore my feelings in a safe and confidential environment. With all my clients I strive to provide my clients the same. I have a vast experience of working closely with homeless individuals, and also single parents. My passion is working with survivors of/ or clients in an abusive relationship. I also have an in depth knowledge of post natal depression and Sexual Abuse and R**e. I also work with people who self-harm and individuals with drug and alcohol problems. I am a trained mediator and have experience of relationship counselling (however I am unable to counsel clients in a violent relationship)
In my current role I work with individuals on self esteem and anger issues, and explore ways forward with and causes that effect both. I have a strong interest in Mindfullness and in the past have worked with clients on breathing techniques as well as short meditation to help in stressful situations. I have a fully enhanced CRB check, and I am fully insured. Rates:

Congratulations to Esther G**y, who was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Chester this week.

“I had a beautiful day and was looked after so well by everyone,” she said.

“It was a privilege to watch the graduates receive recognition for all their hard work and to see the pride on their faces when they came to collect their certificates.”

She gave a speech where she spoke about her own education - returning to college in her 30s, completing an access course, resitting her GCSEs and studying for a BSc degree.

“I really see the value in education and believe we should be offering all children and young people the very best,” she added.

“This is why I’m pushing for a fully phone free education and for every school to receive funding to implement this.”

She continued: “Everything I work on now is because of the suffering my beautiful daughter, Brianna went through.

“I’m determined to create positive change in her memory and to ensure that other families don’t go through the pain we have.

“I wouldn’t have been able to do any of this work without the love, support and guidance of so many outstanding people who I have met on my journey, especially my amazing team at the Brianna G**y Legacy Project.”
