Empowering voices, improving access, and building trust

We were proud to support a special Ladies Empowerment Day and shopping event in Nantwich, created in partnership with Pride of Romani and local NHS services for Romany Gypsy and Irish Traveller women.

This event provided a welcoming, comfortable, space where women could connect, share their experiences, and seek advice on any health concerns. With on-site health screenings and support available, it was an opportunity to break down barriers and ensure women feel heard, respected, and supported in their healthcare journeys.

Hearing directly from the women who attended reminds us why this work matters. Creating safe spaces like this is a vital step toward reducing inequalities and improving health outcomes across our communities.

This collaboration is part of CCICP Community Services’ ongoing commitment to advancing health equity.

Meet Claudia and hear about her career journey

Claudia began her career training as a physiotherapist. Today, Claudia focuses on reviewing pathways, improving ways of working and supporting services to evolve — all with one goal in mind: providing the best possible care for patients in the community.

Her story is a great example of how diverse NHS careers can be, and how different roles contribute to improving care for local communities.

Her motivation has always been the same — making sure people receive the best possible care. Now she does that by reviewing patient pathways and helping teams find better ways of working across community services.

As Claudia says:
“Just because you wear an NHS lanyard does not mean you need to be a clinician in a hospital.”

Her story shows the many different ways people can make a difference in the NHS.

👇 Take a look at Claudia’s career story below.

• longer appointments
• clearer information
• flexibility around how and when appointments take place

Everyone’s needs are different. Let us know what would help you, or someone you care for, to feel more comfortable and supported when accessing care.

From forklift truck driver to AHP Professional Lead

Dave’s career journey is a brilliant reminder that NHS careers don’t have to follow a straight path. Starting out as a forklift truck driver, Dave went on to retrain, develop his clinical skills and build a career in healthcare — and he’s now the Allied Health Professional (AHP) Professional Lead for CCICP Community Services.

In his role, Dave supports teams across community services to improve quality, strengthen clinical pathways and continuously improve how care is delivered, helping ensure patients receive safe, high‑quality care closer to home. He also works closely with colleagues to share learning, support best practice and give AHPs a strong professional voice.

Dave’s story shows what’s possible with determination, opportunity and a commitment to making care better for patients.
