⭐🐾Client Feedback and Experience at Physio-Vet 🐾⭐
Millie was referred to Physio-Vet/ Medivet Crewe Hall in Autumn 2023 for physio to help her with her osteoarthritis. She was assessed for appropriate treatment and a plan was put into place. Physio Molly has been caring for Millie’s treatment since then and Millie so enjoys arriving to fusses from Charlotte at reception and Molly for her fortnightly treatment along with the students we have met this last twelve months. Millie has laser therapy, water treadmill sessions which greatly benefit her, and we continue with Molly’s recommended exercises for Millie at home. We highly recommend the dedicated, knowledgeable and professional team at Medivet who have a warm welcome each time we visit, we cannot thank you enough.

First Picture - Day 1 Post-op
Second Picture - Maya at her heaviest
Third Picture - Maya Today
"Our Weimaraner, Maya was referred to Physio-vet/ Medivet Crewe Hall from the Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon, Edd Allsop at Eden Veterinary Centre following bilateral cruciate ligament surgery. The left knee surgery was pretty much text book but the right knee surgery came with a range of post operative complications. Maya had lost a significant amount of muscle in her right leg which was to be expected following surgery to both knees. As a result she gained a tremendous amount of weight, her weight on her first consultation was 44kilos. Her ideal weight is 33kilos. This was a result of no or limited exercise for a period of 8 months.
During her first consultation at Physio-Vet, Maya was given a diet plan by their nutritionist and her rehabilitation treatment was commenced. This included laser therapy and hydrotherapy on the treadmill plus a steady exercise regime at home. Maya has now been attending for several weeks. Her weight today was recorded at 36.5kilos. The girls at Physio-Vet have been fantastic on every visit, even down to the receptionist and students. The diet plan has been tough (for us, not Maya) and we have stuck to the plan rigorously. Maya still has a way to go but we have lots of faith and confidence in the staff at Physio-Vet on getting Maya back to how she was before her surgery.
We highly recommend Physio-Vet to any owners that may be anxious about placing their pets on any rehabilitation programme!

⭐️The lovely Bonnie modeling her Help 'Em Up Harness ⭐️
This harness helps dogs that struggle with some of life's daily activities such as getting in and out of the car or getting out of bed in the morning due to stiffness. The soft design and easy fitting allows the dog to live in the harness 24/7. The two straps over the front and back of the dog distributes their weight making lifting in one movement easier for the owner.
Bonnie uses her harness to help with getting in and out of the car and for when she gets tired on her back legs during short walks.

Hydrotherapy is a great form of treatment that has a wide range of benefits from endurance and fitness to aiding with recovery from surgery.
A combination of natural buoyancy and water resistance creates a weightless environment which alleviates joint pressure and help to improve joint range of motion. The warm water also helps to ease pain by releasing endorphins and encourages controlled and beneficial movement.
There are a wide range of conditions that can benefit from hydrotherapy such as fractures, osteoarthritis, hip or elbow dysplasia, cruciate ligament ruptures and neurological conditions.
Hydrotherapy is also a great tool with regards to weight management. It is far more effective at burning calories in a shorter amount of time compared with land based walking. This challenges and builds muscles, subsequently increasing cardiovascular fitness and ultimately aiding in your dog’s weight loss journey.
If you would like to equire about hydrotherapy treatment for your pet, please get in touch with the practice and one of the team will be able to assist you.

Physio-Vet was founded in 2010 by small animal orthopaedic surgeon David Prydie and his wife, Lorna, after Dave began an interest in physiotherapy treatment, to compliment the recovery of surgical candidates, and where suitable, to even avoid the need for surgery.
Physio-Vet offers a full team, holistic approach to the treatment of osteoarthritis, cruciate disease, hip and elbow dysplasia, sporting dog injuries and post op management. Each patient has a treatment plan devised, based on each individual patient’s symptoms and needs. Each patient then receives a personalised combination of treatments including laser, pulsed electromagnetic therapy, ultrasound, underwater treadmill sessions, shockwave, home exercise programmes, core stability work and nutritional advice. All done in a really relaxed, happy atmosphere, so both the patients and pet parents can chill! At Physio-Vet, we believe that happy, relaxed patients get better quicker!
We evaluate the patients at each of their sessions, to measure progress, by their clinical signs, range of movement, their demeanour, reactions to their home exercise programme or using the Stance Analyser.
Over the years, here at Physio-Vet we have invested heavily in keeping abreast of new technologies and treatments. We are currently expanding to double our square footage, so we can offer the further services of x-ray, stem cell treatment, arthroscopy (a camera in the joint capsule), minimally invasive surgery and CT scanning. All followed up with a comprehensive rehabilitation package. Please look in on our page to see our progress!
