Did you know the oldest maternity hospital in the world was funded by... throwing parties? 🇮🇪💃

In 1745, Dr. Bartholomew Mosse knew that to provide the best care for mums and babies in Dublin, he needed the whole community on board. He built a literal ballroom next to the hospital to raise the funds!

Community is EVERYTHING! If you'd like to share your experiences with us to shape the future for maternity care, please get in touch 💜

You spoke, we listened! 👂

After hearing what you wanted to see inside the hospital, we’ve been busy filming some behind the scenes content that we’ll be sharing with you very soon. 🎥

Now, we want to take it a step further. We’re sitting down with our midwives to get your questions answered!

Whether it’s about birth preferences, ward routines, or just meeting the team, we want to help you feel connected and informed.

What do you want to ask a midwife?

Drop your questions in the comments or slide into our DMs, and we’ll get the cameras rolling! 👇

Can you help? We would be very grateful for your input! Thanks 💜

We’re really pleased to be launching our new birth infographic, in partnership with Leighton Hospital Maternity Unit and Leighton Hospital W22 Neonatal Unit

This has been worked on over many months with staff, the MNVP and local families. It’s come from lots of conversations, challenge, number-checking and back-and-forth to try and get it right. As a group, we’ve worked really hard to make sure the information is accurate, balanced and reflects what you as a community asked to see.

We know we won’t have captured everything, and we can’t action every single request, but we’ve done our very best to strike that balance - creating something that feels honest, clear and supportive.

We hope it can be:
• a keepsake for families
• a transparent snapshot of local outcomes
• a helpful tool to support antenatal decision-making

But as always, the people best placed to tell us whether we’ve got this right - or whether something needs changing - are you!

If there’s something you like, something you’d tweak, or something that doesn’t sit quite right, we want to hear from you.

You can share your feedback here:

Thank you to everyone who has shaped this and congratulations to all of our January families.

Who are we? What do we do?

Central Cheshire Maternity Voices Partnership is a group of volunteers, health professionals and community organisations working in Cheshire to help make the services provided before, during and after pregnancy the best they possibly can be for each woman and her family.

We seek out the voices of those recently or currently using the local maternity services and share these stories back to the health providers in the Cheshire area. Working collaboratively with the providers and local organisations our goal is to make all voices heard, and use these to impact change.

We want individual centred care, and use the Better Births and the Local Maternity Service Plan as guidance.

Please get in touch if you would like to be involved in any way. If you would like to share your story please know that you will always be listened to, and treated with the upmost respect.
