Poetry in Funeral Services

Poetry at a funeral helps people say what’s hard to say. It can bring back a small memory, hold a quiet moment, or give everyone a gentle breath together. A warm, simple poem can feel like a hand on the shoulder. 🤍🌈

Finding the Right Poem
• Match the tone. Gentle words for quiet lives; lighter lines for those who loved to laugh.

• Choose simple images. A garden, a cup of tea, a favourite chair—small details make a poem feel personal. ☕️🌿

• Use family memories. A single story or a favourite phrase often points to the right lines.

• Our celebrants will help guide you to find a poem that speaks to you and of your loved ones. 🤝

🌿 Meet the Team
Today we are spotlighting our dedicated celebrants; Kaye, Helen, Pam and Boo.

🌿 At Oxley’s, we have a team of experienced Celebrants who are here to help you create a funeral that feels personal, comforting and true to the life being remembered. They take time to sit with you, listen to your stories, and understand what made your loved one unique.

🌿 With that care, they shape a ceremony that reflects their personality and the memories you hold close. Your Celebrant will guide you gently through each part of the service and help you choose readings, poetry and music that feel right for your family.

🌿 Their purpose is simple: to support you with kindness and clarity, giving you the space to say goodbye in a way that feels meaningful and yours.

💙 Remembering with Love

Love doesn’t stop when someone dies. We carry it in our memories, in the stories we share, and in the ways, we still feel their presence. The people we miss remain part of who we are, and the love we have for them continues, even though they are no longer here.

This Valentine’s Day, we’re thinking about the love that stays with us, the steady, lasting love that helps us remember those who meant so much. Like a Forget‑Me‑Not, love endures quietly and faithfully.

As a small gesture of remembrance, we’re offering a Forget‑Me‑Not keyring for anyone who would find comfort in carrying one. If you’d like one, please feel free to call in to either our Nantwich or Crewe Offices, they are our gift to you.
