Quick update, I’m introducing a deeper sound bath on 6th December. It’s a 2-hour immersive reset designed to unwind the body layer by layer.
This one is more spacious, more intentional and gives you the time to settle in before and after as the sound does its work.

It’s the last run of sessions for the year at

FRI 5th December — Deep Relaxation (half full already) 7.30pm
SAT 6th December — Deep Reset - 10am

If you’ve been needing a proper pause before we close out 2025, this is it.

Bookings are in the link in my bio. Bothy Sound
Hope to see you there. Dougie

A moment with sound … In the calm, in between what is and what will be, sits the potential of the unknown. As we lie quiet at a sound bath, our ears try to pre-empt the next sound to appear.

The pala chime acts as a transition to invoke a little wonder, a little softness, and with it a connection back to nature.

You see, it doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful. Sometimes it’s the little moments that have the biggest effect.

See you in the stillness of sound.

Not many people talk about this…
There is a lot of information out there about the instruments used in a sound bath, but not so much about what I call the ripple effect.
The moments and days after a session can sometimes be even more powerful than the sound bath itself. I’ve experienced first hand the continued energy moving through my body.

And then, a day or so later, the emotions and thoughts begin to rise, gentle, unexpected and often clarifying.
Like a ripple in water, these vibrations carry not only a way to relax but a key to unlock something even more profound.

As I delve deeper into sound I invite you to join me. Bookings are now open for my December sessions.
It’s going to be a special end to the year.

Shruti, you beauty 🎶🐿️
As autumn truly takes hold here in Scotland, I’ve been out chasing my nature fix, finding those quiet corners where I can relax, record sounds or simply be for a while.

There’s a kind of magic in those moments when the wild reveals itself, a deer dashing through the field, a buzzard circling high above or a cheeky squirrel dancing through the trees.

Much like sound, they’re hard to capture on camera and best experienced first-hand.

Staying a little wild is something I’ll always aspire to. For in the wild, there are no straight lines only the ever-wandering moments of potential.

And it’s in that potential where we remember how alive we truly are.

Hope to see you in the stillness sometime!

Everyone experiences sound baths differently but one constant is their ability to open a space for us to learn something.

There really is no greater healer, guide or friend than ourselves. No one knows us better.

My sound baths simply offer a place for that inner communication to open, to be heard and to bring a little more clarity.
It’s also just a space to come and deeply relax.

Whatever you’re looking for, the sounds will meet you there. ✨ Join me and feel it for yourself. 🌞🎶

Breaking our thought patterns.
The chime is an elusive instrument, one that hides in the background and shimmers and sparkles like the setting sun.
It’s an important part of my sound journeys, a way to break old thought loops and to bring a little bit of mystery and calmness into our minds and then into our bodies.

Being in a dreamlike state allows many things to unfold, to release, to process, and to relax.

This is the magic of the chimes, another key element of my Bothy Sound.

My next monthly sound baths are not far away. Why not join me and experience it for yourself?

✨ What do you think, do chimes take you somewhere else when you hear them?

Be honest — is this what you thought of when you first heard the words sound bath? 😂
Funnily enough, I suppose there are a few similarities:
* They both allow us to relax
* They both give us a sense of being safe and held
* They both can make us a little sleepy
* And they both wash away the stress of the day

Maybe that’s why a sound bath feels a bit like sinking into pure calm, just without the bubbles!

Both magic and measurable… 🎶✨ I might be a bit biased when it comes to the benefits of sound baths, so here’s some research to back it up.
If you are a research buff then here are some more resources to check out.

🎶 This field of study is growing but there are still many unknowns about the human brain and its connection with sound.

That’s what fascinates me about sound and sound baths. There is still so much to learn and experience! 🎶 - Dougie

Why use incense?
Life has been full of ritual for centuries, and in a way, I feel it’s been lost a little in modern times, unless Netflix counts as a ritual 😀

For me, studying sound and sound baths has allowed me to learn and practise some age-old rituals.

That’s why I use incense. I do this before and after every sound bath session to cleanse the instruments, ready for their next use.
It’s also a great symbol to banish unwanted, negative or stagnant energy that we no longer need!
