A lovely morning with the Richmond House Friendship group! We created some cyanotype prints using nature stencils, and admired the beautiful garden.
The stencils created some beautiful prints, a lovely shabby chic texture which gives it the old vintage style.
Simple but effective!

September is here!

I am definitely an Autumn girl, I have loved the Summer, but I always feel like I fall off the edge at the end of the school holidays and it takes me a few weeks to get some balance back into my life.
I lost two of my beautiful cats during the Summer holidays, and I am still feeling the sadness and the void of them not being with us as a family.
Animals are such a wonderful gift and their love and warmth is something I will always want in my life.
Keeping busy definitely helps, back to college studying for my HND in Counselling, a new role with Trauma Healing Together and lots of nature workshops happening.

So as we say goodbye to August we enter into a different month, a month of harvest, new energy, new colours and new adventures.

Lots of exciting workshops happening!

Week 12 of Branching Out!

This was the last week, it was an emotional day and I am feeling super proud of everyone who committed to the twelve weeks.
It was a day of celebration, a day to remember the amazing achievement of being awarded their John Muir Award and their certificates from Scottish Forestry.
There were lots of smiles and everyone celebrated each other.
The connections this group has made have been amazing, they have truly grown from strength to strength.
One of our activities was using our senses in the woods a grounding technique to feel grounded and safe
We collected all the words and produced a beautiful poem they all received.
Thank you to for allowing us to use this beautiful site and Scottish Forestry for funding this amazing project.
Feeling immensely grateful

Mugwort

Also known as the dream herb, it's a beautiful plant and I have found a spot where it grows in abundance, lucky me.
Mugwort has been used for centuries in herbal medicine, food and traditional practices.
My favourite way to enjoy it is by infusing a hot chocolate with it, it's delicious.
introduced me to this delicious drink when I attended her wonderful foraging session a couple of years ago.
I now drink it before bed sometimes as it makes me super sleepy and I have a great sleep and some fabulous dreams too.😀

11 Weeks of Branching Out

11 Weeks of growth, connection, community.
We did our last conservation task towards the John Muir Award today, creating bird feeders for Autumn.
We also once again had a feast, bacon rolls are always a hit and a delicious desert of caramelised bananas with fresh cream cooked by our group member, who has kept us fed throughout the 11 weeks.
We discussed our personal journey and the future and how they can weave nature into their lives to continue to grow and learn.
We were grateful for all the moments, all the emotions and just like the seasons, change is coming.
Another wonderful day, and very grateful to the Scottish Forestry for funding this wonderful project and for supporting us and allowing us to use their beautiful grounds.

Branching Out week 10

Another wonderful day connecting around the fire, we enjoyed a feast yesterday. Bacon rolls, foraged plums and brambles with some delicious pancakes.
We also made some natural Vics using conifer needles, eculaptus and beeswax.
We have two weeks left to go and we were discussing endings and how they can continue their connection to each other and nature.
A great day was had

Enjoying a little holiday in Wales before the schools go back. I can't believe all the berries are out already..It feels so early, maybe too early.
And the best bit was I found some Mugwort, so I am heading back later to collect and gather to take back home.
Happy holidays
