The Essential guide for feeding and caring for your baby is a great resource for mums, dads and families. This should be given out by your community midwife at an antenatal appointment.
If you have not seen one, please ask, there should always be a stock up in the hospital so one can be given to you.
This booklet covers information including breast feeding, hand expressing, bottle feeding, weaning your baby, what to expect with the first few nappies and so much more.
This booklet may be referenced to you during your time in hospital when having your baby.
Use the following link to get the guide up in a PDF format.

Firstly, CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR PREGNANCY/ NEW BABY.
The layout of this page will be changing slightly.
Each day will be a structured theme giving a different ā€˜topic’ each week for that theme. That way hopefully not too much will be repeated. Unless there is a week dedicated to a relevant topic, then you will see posts relevant to that topic.
The first few days, links, information and posters will be posted so they will be on this page for future reference.
Private messaging will not be manned but instead you will get an automatic reply to contact your community midwife team via medicom: (01603 481222) or email the infant feeding team at the hospital: infantfeedingco-ordinators@nnuh.nhs.uk.
every week we will throw in a chance for you to ask questions...
* what would you like to see on our page?
* Would you like to have anymore information on a certain subject?
* would you rather see more pictures.
* would you like to see some live Q&A/webinars?
It needs to work for you so please use these posts as an opportunity (you will be aware of these posts.)
The themes each day will be as shown in the post above.
Commenting on the posts is allowed but please do not use this platform as a form of getting personal advice. Please seek 1:1 support from the above contacts.

We are there to offer that help & support. The phone line is open between 11am - 10pm. Please don’t hesitate to call

šŸ¤°šŸ»Cley Ward Feedback šŸ¤°šŸ½

Next week our MVP meeting is focusing on Cley, the antenatal ward. We’ve received lots of valuable feedback about your experiences of induction of labour.

However, we haven’t heard from people who have spent time on Cley ward during their pregnancy for other reasons.

If this is you, we would love to hear your thoughts on this subject to help improve services and ensure that you're getting the best possible care from NNUH.

Have your voice heard by;

* Sending us a private message through this page

* E-mailing us at NorwichMvp@gmail.com

* Completing our simple, anonymous feedback form
shorturl.at/iDJKZ
(This is different to our main survey)

* Join the conversation at the meeting in April

šŸ™Œ MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT BY TEXT šŸ™Œ

We are so happy to have a new text message support service available ā¤ļø šŸŽ‰ ā¤ļø

The service, a partnership between The PANDAS Foundation, powered by and thanks to the support of corporate partner offers free, accessible, confidential, 24/7 text messaging support for any parent or carer who is struggling to cope.

Anyone feeling anxious, stressed, lonely, depressed, suicidal or overwhelmed and who need immediate support can use the service by texting the word ā€˜PANDAS’ to 85258, any time of the day or night.

To start a conversation:
ā— text the word ā€˜PANDAS’ to 85258
ā— you’ll then receive four automated messages before being connected to a trained volunteer
ā— once connected, the volunteer will listen to anything that is troubling you, providing support and signposting to services where appropriate.
ā— Texters most at risk will be prioritised in terms of connecting to a trained volunteer

The service is free, anonymous and doesn’t appear on phone bills. Users don’t need to register, download an app or use mobile data.

The new service will run alongside The PANDAS Foundation’s other support services, which include a free helpline open between 11am – 10pm daily on ā˜Žļø 0808 1961 776 ā˜Žļø , email support service (info@pandasfoundation.org.uk) and peer to peer support groups (digital and face to face).

Babies bodies only work optimally when they are held. When they are laid down out of someone’s arms their basic body systems start to get a bit dysregulated - their breathing, their digestion. They become stressed. When they are picked up they use that adult’s nervous system to help regulate their own. They calm and relax. When babies wake 10 mins after we put them down, it doesn’t mean they have wind, or reflux or that pain is waking them. It is often just that they need to be picked back up. They may show this by grunting, squirming, arching, or they may cry.
Babies are telling us they need to be held and the neuroscience tells us that babies know what they need. It’s exhausting, but holding your baby does something amazing for your baby. It regulates them. It helps them grow. It wires them for trust.
