13th March 2026
💚 World Kidney Day 2026
“Kidney Health for All: Caring for People, Protecting the Planet”
Environmental factors like air pollution, heat stress, dehydration and extreme weather can raise the risk of kidney disease and make it progress faster.
At the same time, treatments like dialysis use large amounts of water, energy and single use plastics, which adds pressure on the environment.
This year’s message is simple:
💚 Protect people.
💚 Protect the planet.
💚 Support healthier kidneys and a healthier world.

🌼 March is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month 🌼
Knowing the symptoms can help you spot when something isn’t quite right. Ovarian cancer has four main symptoms:
• Persistent stomach pain
• Persistent bloating
• Difficulty eating or feeling full quickly
• Needing to wee more often
These symptoms can also be caused by conditions like IBS, ovarian cysts or PCOS — so having them doesn’t mean you have ovarian cancer. But it’s still important to get them checked.
👉 Other symptoms can include:
• Indigestion
• Back pain
• Changes in bowel habits
• Unexplained weight loss
• Post menopausal vaginal bleeding
• Extreme tiredness
If your symptoms are:
• persistent
• severe
• frequent
• unusual for you
📞 Make an appointment with your GP as soon as possible.
Keeping a symptom diary can help you explain what’s been happening and support your doctor in making a diagnosis.

🌼 1st – 31st March: Endometriosis Action Month 🌼
March is all about raising awareness, supporting those affected, and encouraging earlier diagnosis of endometriosis.
💛 1 in 10 women and people assigned female at birth are affected by this common but often overlooked condition. Endometriosis can impact every part of life — from physical health to mental wellbeing, relationships, and careers.
👉 Common symptoms include:
• chronic pelvic pain
• painful periods
• pain during or after s*x
• painful bowel movements
• pain when urinating
• fatigue
• difficulty getting pregnant
If you or someone you know experiences any of these symptoms, keeping a pain and symptom diary can be really helpful when speaking to a GP. Early diagnosis means earlier access to treatment and management options, and can prevent the condition from progressing.
