Saturday means football!

International break is over and our residents were ready for some league action.

We started our afternoon with a visit to the Killie Community Hub to have tea, biscuits and check out a fantastic collection of shirts and memorabilia.

Then at 3pm we got the pies and Bovril in. Sadly it wasnt a win for Killie but our residents had some fantastic tactical suggestions - maybe we should give Kettlewell a call....

Our residents said they wanted to try things they'd never done before.

So we held our first rave!

Security was tight as DJ Alisdair took to the decks to entertain us all afternoon. Wow!

And they called it Bunny Luuuuuuuv!

We had some therapeutic pet therapy yesterday here at Thorntoun. Families and friends joined us as we held the animals, chatted about pets we had had and loved and enjoyed watching the care team catch the ducks.

Getting active in the Willows!

We used the resistance bands to strengthen and maintain muscles and joints. These exercises can benefit our daily movements and they're great fun.

We finished with the YMCA to give our voices a workout too!

Wow what a week!

Remembrance was our focus this week as we honoured those who served. We had a tea dance with music from the war, a Remembrance church service and finally a poppy adternoon tea.

We were out and about on our bus, shopping, eating and touring the countryside.

We kept active with chair exercises, had sing-a-longs and welcomed a wee helper too.

Tonight we're having beers and bar snacks in the sports lounge for the Scotland game!

If you've visited Thorntoun recently you may have seen the amazing display of knitted poppies at Crosshouse Parish Church and the War Memorial in Crosshouse Village.

Last year we knitted poppies for this project and we're very proud to see them once again in such a beautiful display.

Thank you to Crosshouse Church for letting us take part.

We were all winners today as we played some nostalgic gameshow inspired games!

We played Family Fortunes and Play Your Cards Right. Working in teams to give our best answers meant we really challenged ourselves and each other.

We'd like to apologise for an oversight that meant some emails weren't included in our invite for the Thorntoun Fireworks.

We understand how disappointing this must have been and we have changed how our mailing list works, going forward this will ensure this doesn't happen again.
