We want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible Amira, who has been supporting Equilore through a series of amazing fundraising efforts 💛

Throughout January, she’s been taking on the challenge of walking 50 miles, alongside hosting smaller fundraisers including a stall at the Chipping Norton Christmas Lights switch on and another at Chipping Norton Co-op, where she raised a further £50 every bit makes such a difference.

Her generosity, time, and commitment mean the world to us, and we are so grateful for the continued support she shows to Equilore and the work we do 🐴💫

She’s also hoping to organise a fundraising car wash, so keep your eyes peeled for more information on that very soon 🚗

And to everyone who has already donated, thank you. There’s still plenty of time to support her January challenge, and we’ll pop the JustGiving link below for anyone who’d like to contribute.

What are the positives right now? A warm cup of tea on the sofa? Chilling in your evening? Take this time to rest because the hecticness of spring and summer will soon be with us again!

Watch till the end and see how Elsie feels about all this winter fun! 🤣

❄️Adverse weather conditions! ❄️

This week the forecast is predicting snow and ice. How does this affect your session/ volunteering?

In principle the sessions can go ahead. The horses are ready after their Christmas break and the benefit of the frost is that there is no mud!!

However, snow and ice affect individual areas differently and some have a long way to travel. The rule ‘safety first’ applies.

If your practitioner is unable to make it safely to the yard they will contact you asap to cancel your session.

Likewise, if you feel it is unsafe to travel do let us know as soon as possible.

The key thing here is to keep yourself safe!

If you do attend your session or volunteering shift; please note the yard is icy, please be careful on arrival!

2025 at Equilore 💙

This year we’ve welcomed new clients, delivered hundreds of therapeutic and Barn Pals sessions, grown our team, and raised vital funds to keep our work going.

Behind every number is time, care, patience, and trust given by our staff, volunteers, supporters, clients and of course, our wonderful horses.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has walked alongside us this year, we truly couldn’t do it without you…THANK YOU!

We can’t wait to see what 2026 has is store for us all! 💛🐴

While Christmas lights are glowing
And the New Year draws in near,
Our horses still need caring
At a busy time of year.

When most are home and resting,
Taking time off, slowing pace,
Our staff and volunteers turn up
With commitment, care, and grace.

Through frosty dawns and darkened nights,
The routine’s never missed,
Meds, feed, and plenty of good hay,
Done calmly, skilled, on days that are crisp.

Warm rugs wrapped on for winter nights,
Lighter ones by day,
So horses can enjoy the sun
While chewing Christmas hay.

Thank you Kim and Evelyn,
For knowledge tried and true,
And thanks to all our volunteers
For everything you do.

Thank you to our clients and followers too,
For trusting us, sharing, giving, and standing near,
Your support helps Equilore continue
Providing Equine-facilitated therapy, year after year.

Merry Christmas from founders,
Loes and Winnie to you all 🎄

Today marks the Winter Solstice: the shortest day and the longest night of the year.

For some, the festive season can feel heavy or triggering and that’s okay. You’re not alone in that.

Our horses know this season well. They quietly cope with winter mud, rain, and long, dark days, resting, conserving energy, and trusting that change will come.

From today, the light slowly begins to return. Just as our horses will welcome drier ground and fresh spring grass, we too can hold onto the hope of lighter times ahead.

Be kind to yourself the next few weeks. Lighter times are coming. 🤍

One of our incredible supporters is taking on a sponsored walk this January for Equilore and we couldn’t be more grateful!

Amira will be taking in the massive task of walking 50 miles throughout January to raise funds for us at Equilore.

When we asked her about why she’s walking for us Amira said -
“I want to fundraise for Equilore as I love going there because it helps give me the confidence to do things I wouldn’t before”
“By fundraising it will help look after the horse and it will help adults or children have sessions if they can’t afford too because it’s the best place to be”

To support Amira’s walk sponsor her here -

Winter invites us to slow our pace, and Christmas sits gently within that pause.

As the days grow shorter and the evenings draw in earlier, horses remind us that safety, connection, and presence matter more than productivity.

This season, it’s enough to be - just as you are.
