🌟 This Week at Kingsclear! 🌟

It’s been another fun-filled week here at Kingsclear, packed with laughter, music, and celebration!

🍋 Monday kicked off with the sweet smell of freshly baked lemon cakes as our residents rolled up their sleeves for a lovely baking session and they turned out delicious!

🎤 Tuesday brought the always-entertaining Daniel the Singer, who had everyone tapping their toes and singing along.

🧠 On Wednesday, we tested our knowledge with a lively quiz, congratulations to Tony, our reigning quiz champion! 🏆

🎉 Thursday was extra special as we celebrated Annette’s 5 year work anniversary! Thank you for your dedication and the care you bring to Kingsclear every day!

💐 We also enjoyed a wonderful Summer Concert from our very own Kingsclear Choir, who truly stole the show.

What a week! We’re already looking forward to next week’s adventures 💛

🍰What a lovely day we had with our residents exploring the beautiful blooms at longacres Garden Centre! From colourful flowers to tasty treats in the café, there were smiles all around. 🌷

🎤A big thank you to Andy for bringing so much joy and entertainment to our residents. Your performance was truly appreciated!🎵

🍿Lights, camera, quiz time! Our residents put their film knowledge to the test in a fun-filled movie quiz. A huge congratulations to Jan who took first place with an impressive 21 points! 🌟👏

Leading with heart: Sue Smart featured in The Carer magazine! 🌟

We’re incredibly proud to see Sue Smart, Home Manager at Abbeycrest Nursing Home in Sonning Common, featured recently in The Carer for her outstanding leadership and dedication to care. 💙

With over 40 years of nursing experience, Sue has brought warmth, compassion, and transformation to Abbeycrest - taking the home from just 4 residents to full occupancy of 70, all without the use of agency staff. Her commitment to creating a supportive and connected team culture is truly inspiring.

From daily garden walks and resident check-ins to celebrating passions (like helping a resident publish her first book of paintings!), Sue brings heart and purpose to every moment. ✨

She says it best:
“To get a smile when you see a resident or family member is priceless. It means everything to me to see them happy.”

❤️A heartfelt thank you to Kevin the violinist for bringing such joy and beautiful music to our residents. Your performance was truly appreciated and made the day extra special!🎶

🛍️A wonderful outing with our residents to the local garden center today! Everyone enjoyed browsing the beautiful plants and flowers, followed by a relaxing break with tea and cake in the café. A lovely day filled with smiles, conversation, and fresh air.🚙

🍪We had a lovely time baking shortbread with our residents! The smell of freshly baked biscuits filled the home, and everyone enjoyed getting involved – mixing, shaping, and of course, tasting.❤️

Joy Across Generations at Denham Manor!

Our home was buzzing with laughter and love as we welcomed Year 3 and 4 pupils from Denham E-Act Academy for a truly heartwarming day of intergenerational fun.

As part of the Happiness Programme by Social-Ability, residents and students enjoyed sensory-based games like balloon popping, fishing, and even a few rounds of air hockey (a resident favourite!).

The day was filled with smiles, shared stories, and meaningful connection - proving that joy knows no age. Music rounded off the celebrations with a singalong of timeless classics, sparking cherished memories for many. 🎶

A huge thank you to the brilliant team at Social-Ability for bringing this wonderful experience to life and supporting the wellbeing of our residents through innovative, inclusive technology.

100 years of stories, service, and a little bit of rum! 🥃🎂

We were honoured to celebrate a remarkable milestone at Knowle Park Nursing Home as resident Peter turned 100!

Born in 1925, Peter’s life has been full of rich experiences - from his early engineering apprenticeship to his proud service in the Royal Navy. He’s a man of quick wit, deep conversations, and a true love for chess and family life.

With two daughters, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, Peter is surrounded by love and laughter. His secret to a long life? “Just enjoy life as it is - and drink a bit of rum!”

Thank you for sharing your warmth, wisdom, and humour with all of us at Aria Care.

Aria Care is proud to be working with Circom – a leader in sustainable waste management – to ensure that 100% of our general waste, recycling, glass and food waste now goes to zero landfill across the business. 🌍

Recently, members of our team, including James Clear and Rowen Campbell, visited Circom’s cutting-edge facilities – home to the largest mattress recycling operation in Europe. Witnessing the incredible processes first-hand, from recycling to innovative reuse (yes, even the boardroom table!), really brought home the impact of this partnership.

A huge thank you to the Circom team for the warm welcome and inspiring tour. We're excited about what we can achieve together on our journey toward greater sustainability. 💚

Driving Strategy from the Heart: Our Home Managers Workshop 🌟

This week we came together for our quarterly home managers workshop focusing on what truly matters: delivering our strategy while keeping quality and the person at the centre of everything we do.

Using our blend of compassion and professionalism, we worked through the decisions and actions needed to continue to deliver outstanding care.

Tapping into the knowledge and experience across the whole group, we explored how we can continue to grow and innovate—without ever losing sight of the individuals who live and work in our homes.

We spent time looking at our own personality preferences, as part of our ongoing commitment to developing and supporting effective and compassionate leaders.

It was inspiring to see the passion, insight, and dedication in the room, as well as a strong sense of team ethic.

Janos has shown incredible creativity, skill and passion in his cooking, and today he’ll be showcasing his talents on a regional stage alongside some of the best in the industry. This prestigious competition celebrates excellence in care catering – and we’re so proud to have Janos flying the flag for Aria Care. 💙

Today’s heat follows the South East heat last week, where we had not one but two talented chefs competing – Simon Boyden from Knowle Park in Cranleigh, and Jonny Hollis from Riverside in Ware. We are so proud of all these chefs and everything they do for our residents.

Hosted by the inspiring Kate Garraway at London’s Hilton Bankside, the event celebrated excellence in end-of-life care across the UK - and we’re honoured that Solent Grange was recognised for their exceptional teamwork, compassion, and dedication.

This award highlights the team’s incredible ability to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of residents and their loved ones during life’s most sensitive moments.

🎉 What a week it has been at Kingsclear! 🎉

We’ve kicked the week off with a fun raffle to get everyone in the spirit 🎟️

Midweek brings some sparkle with Maria the belly dancer, lighting up the room with her amazing moves and vibrant energy! 💃✨

We were treated to something truly special too, the incredibly talented Francisco the harpist graced us with his beautiful music 💖

Then it was time to get competitive with a classic game of boules whether you're a seasoned pro or just in it for fun! 🎯

And to round off the week in style, we had the fabulous Lucy the singer bringing all the feel-good vibes and crowd favourites 🎤🎶

It was a week full of fun, laughter, and great company! 🥳

🎩🐎 ASCOT WEEK PARTY ALERT! 🐎🎩

We brought the glamour, the thrills, and the blown-up horse racing — and it was a day to remember! 🏇💨

🔥 The BBQ was sizzling all afternoon with burgers, bangers, and good vibes – thanks to everyone who manned the grill and kept the prosecco flowing! 🍔🌭🥂

🎤 A huge shoutout to Daniel the Singer for setting the perfect soundtrack — what a voice, what a performance!

🏁 And in the inflatable race of the season, Sienna and her horse ‘Sally the Stallion’ stormed to victory and took the crown in true Ascot style! 🏆🐎💃

Massive thanks to everyone who came dressed to the nines, danced in the garden, and made it a party we’ll never forget. Same time next year?
