🧘‍♀️✨ How Does Hypnosis Feel? ✨🧘‍♂️

This is one of the questions I’m asked most often — and the answer is: it can feel a little different for everyone.

Some people describe hypnosis as a deeply relaxing daydream, where thoughts drift by like clouds in the sky (that's me!). Others feel a gentle heaviness in their body, almost like sinking into a warm, comfy chair.
Some experience a pleasant lightness or tingling sensation… while others simply feel calm, focused, and very present.

What’s important to know is:
🌿 You don’t lose control — you stay aware and can open your eyes anytime.
🌿 You might hear everything I say clearly, or it may fade into the background as your mind wanders — both are perfectly normal.
🌿 The experience changes from person to person — and even from session to session.

Just like no two people daydream in exactly the same way, no two hypnosis experiences feel exactly alike. And that’s part of what makes it so special and personal.

“Everyday Hypnosis: Why It’s More Common (and Useful) Than You Think”

🌙🧠 "I don't believe in hypnosis or hypnotherapy!"

Yes. I hear it daily — but it's a bit like saying "I don't believe in sleep" 😴 …and then nodding off every night! 😆

It's not their fault though – people often judge and ridicule things they don't understand 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️. We've all been guilty of that at some point, haven't we? 🤔

✨ Here's the thing about hypnosis and trance-like states that most people don't realise: we ALL experience light hypnosis multiple times throughout our day. Nothing magical or mystical about it! 🪄

Hypnosis isn't about being deeply asleep 🛌 (that's something completely different). It's when your focus narrows down to concentrate on just one thing or task 🎯.

📺 Have you ever experienced any of these?

Getting so engrossed in a TV show or movie that someone calls your name and you barely hear them 🍿

Reading a book for hours, losing all track of time, feeling like you're "inside" the story 📖

Arriving at your destination while driving and realising you can't remember anything about the journey 🚗💨 (that's called "highway hypnosis")

That's all hypnosis is – a natural state of mind where your conscious focus narrows, and your unconscious mind becomes more receptive 🧘‍♂️.

💡 And here's where it gets really interesting: when you're in that trance-like state, your unconscious mind – the control centre that holds your beliefs – becomes more easily programmable 🛠️🧠. That's why hypnotherapy is so powerful for creating change 🌱.

It's also why I personally don't watch the news anymore... 📰🚫

Think about it – you fall into a trance-like state watching TV 📺, and the news programmes you to live in fear and anxiety about the world 😨. No thanks! 🙅‍♂️ I'd rather not have that programming when I'm in a highly suggestible state.

Let’s be real — some days, “showing up” feels like a heroic act. 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️
Hair’s a mess, brain’s on standby, motivation is… buffering. But guess what? That’s exactly when the magic happens. 💫

You don’t need to have it all together. You don’t need to arrive with a 10-step healing plan and a green smoothie in hand (although, go you if you do).
You just need to show up - sleepy, messy, nervous, curious... whatever version of you is available today.

We often think that transformation requires grand gestures or perfect timing... but in truth, the real magic begins the moment you simply show up. 💫

Whether it's stepping into a hypnotherapy session for the first time, starting a new habit, or facing a long-avoided emotion — the act of being present, just as you are, is powerful beyond words.

🌱 You don’t need to have it all figured out.
