Hello from beautiful Corfu! 🇬🇷☀️ This island is absolutely stunning with its gorgeous beaches, incredible Greek food, and the loveliest people.
While I've been here, my thoughts kept drifting to something fascinating: The Blue Zones. 💙 Ever heard of them? They're places around the world where people live exceptionally long, healthy lives—often to 100 and beyond, with very low rates of chronic diseases!
Okinawa in Japan...
Sardinia in Italy...
Loma Linda in California...
Nicoya in Costa Rica...
And Ikaria in Greece.
Researchers studied these areas to uncover their secrets, and while diet (whole, unprocessed foods!) was a big one, another common thread really stood out: a strong sense of community. 🤝
I see this so clearly here in Corfu! Locals gather for coffee, share meals, enjoy a little wine, and you just know they're always there for each other.
It got me thinking... in our modern world, we're more connected online than ever, but often less connected in person. Especially for us coaches and online entrepreneurs who often work from home. This "working alone" phenomenon is quite new when you look at history! We've always hunted, farmed, or worked together.
So, here's my encouragement, especially if you work solo: Make a conscious effort to be a part of your local community. Join groups, volunteer, take a class, or even just work from a coffee shop! ☕
Who knows? Embracing that joy and fulfillment of community might just add years to your life! ✨ What are your favourite ways to connect locally? Let me know below
